So I thought if Mr. Grits could visualize what I could see in my
mind – he would play along.
I did a very rough mock-up with my Paint program…
(I did say it was rough – lol)
I even played around with some color on the front
door – something else I thought was extremely needed
since the door is recessed and looks like a black hole
from the street.
(that and I reallllly wanted a red door!)
So a few favorite meals, some begging and pleading
(and honey you DON’T even want to know
what else I promised!) 😉
My beloved gave me this….
Can I just say…..I LOVE IT!
I feel like I have a brand new home.
It’s not the front porch of my dreams….
but I am very, very happy with it.
I got the idea of the lamps from my good friend, Kathysue.
(remember I showcased her beautiful Easter Tablescape)
The rockers we already had…as well as, the
tall urns. We just spray painted them white.
I found these cute little birdies at Kirkland’s. I also
purchased the large coffee cup planter and filled it
with small plantings.
Because our home sits so far off the road, it has lots of privacy.
More apples! Yes, I admit it – I love apples.
I also added a security system…
Meet Mr. Clucker.
I just wanted to share this pot. There are two of them,
one on each side of the front steps.
The ivy that you see was planted here last
Summer when we re-did our Landscaping.
I was not sure if it would even make it through
the Winter.
Isn’t this gorgous?
My friend knew I was working on my porch and
surprised me with a new pillow for my rocker.
Outside of Blogland – I am known as, and called “Barbie.”
LOL
( I think I will put this on my bed)
I can’t wait to see what everyone has to share.
Please post your PERMALINK to
Mr. Linky, below – AFTER you have created
your blog post.
If you are not sure what a PERMALINK is,
it’s the URL created from the Title of the Post.
Happy Porchin’…..Barb
ALSO…
Don’t forget about
WHAT’S ON YOUR WALL WEDNESDAY!
I have a really cute project to share.
Mr. Linky will be up by 9pm.

Barb, Thank you for hosting Porch and Patio Party. I enjoyed sharing my photos that I took today.
I am new to blogging and my photos have a lot to be desired but I have enjoyed participating in some of the weekly parties.
BTW, I love your new front porch and I especially love your most recent post of your kitchen silk arrangement. As one who often does flower arrangements, that was very well done.

I think your Porch Party is such a clever idea, and I just love what you’ve done with your front porch. My first thought was “how can she do better than columns?” But you really did do better. I love all of the decor and the colors are my kind of colors. I’m wondering how that painting is weathering.
I gave you a shout out on my blog for the heads up on Windows Live Writer. It’s certainly made my life easier. Thanks again.
