Be Merry.

And bright – and most of all, be happy.

Little reminders we all need this time of year when

everything can be so stressful and you can become so overtaxed.

Whenever I can create and share an easy 10-minute

project with you – I kinda want to high-five myself.

This is also a versatile DIY.

Your message can say anything.

Like {Drink Lots of Wine}

{Take More Prozac}

{Be Extra, Extra Merry}

I was putting the final touches on the kitchen today.

I am excited to share our kitchen with you next week

and reveal our new Living Room which I am soooo in love with.

I wanted something to fill in some space under the cabinets.

A small space just above my glass canisters.

But, I refused to make one more trip to Hobby Lobby.

So… out came a package of scrapbook letters I already had on hand

from another project (about $2.49) –

… then I grabbed a plain, white plate from my dish stash.

The tricky part was figuring out what to “write.”

Then, figuring out the placement.

I decided to keep it simple.

Cause I didn’t think I had enough letters to write

Eat, Drink – and Drink Some More.

😀

The secret I found was to barely adhere the bottom of

each letter until you were happy with the placement.

Then, rub the letters into place.

Then stand back – and Be Merry.

Now I know all you Cricut and Silhouette gals are

saying “I can make these letters in vinyl.”

Yea, I could too. If I ever got the machine OUT of the box.

I just thought I could master this 10-minute project quicker than

it would take me to unbox and learn a new gadget.

I added some simple greens and red berries to add some color.

It was the perfect little accent.

As you can see, the plate was the perfect fit in the narrow

space where I wanted to add just a little touch of Christmas.

What message would you say?

Thanks for letting me {Be Merry} with you for a little while.

    hmm.. well Miss Smarty:) wish I had thought of the vinyl letter thingie before I spent 2 hours stenciling my letters on .. lol

    as always you are a creative genius and while I’m on that subject you are also the most outstanding decor gal in all of blogland~!! I have always thought that since we were on the forum together..
    and since I said that I’ll go ahead and be my politically incorrect self ((Barb, you know me) and say— I find it mind bloggling that you never seem to receive the acclaim you deserve for your design ability..

      Sonny you have made me almost cry and I am smiling from ear to ear. Your sweet words touched me more than you know. But I did receive validation. From YOU. And from everyone who honors me by coming here. That’s all I need. 🙂 Hugs, dear friend and its so good to hear from you. Hope you are well and also hope you have a Merry Christmas. xxoo, Barb

    From another “Barb” I think you did a creative, quick, and inexpensive fix for that small space. And the stick-on letters can be scraped off if you want! I might just try that for my kitchen backsplash! I hang a small wreath right over my sink but I can find a place for a plate as well! Write on!!!
