Welcome to the 2nd Tabletop Tuesday !
Last week’s premiere of Tabletop Tuesday was a grand success (thanks to you!), and I hope everyone who either participated or enjoyed the great vignettes was as thrilled as I was. I look forward to seeing even more beautiful vignettes…and I know as Valentine’s Day and Spring and Easter approach, your vignettes will become even more spectacular.

Yesterday, for Metamorphosis Monday at Between Naps on the Porch, I shared three projects which would be incorporated into today’s vignette.
If you missed that post and would like to see it, you can click here.
As I spoke of yesterday, I always have problems with decorating this time of year.
It’s not quite Spring, so bunnies and eggs, etc, seem a bit rushed.
Yet… my soul longs for a breath of Spring in my home.
This vignette is featured on the bombe’ chest in my foyer. When I first created it, my first impression was that it was too white and needed color. But, I walked away from it and when I came back…
… I actually liked that it was mostly white with touches of soft color. I found it strangely calming after the plathora of Christmas colors from the previous month.
I found the two “topiary” birds recently at Michael’s. I have had the larger bird for a few years, it was a Marshall’s purchase.
I love the cut-out detail.
I, also, purchased this vase for the same reason. I loved the cut-out detail along the rim and knew it work in well with the birds.
Unfortunately, my flowers covered up the design. Oops.
I bought this small apothecary jar at Michael’s with my last 40% off coupie, It was originally $9.99.
I just added a plain candle and surrounded it with reindeer moss.
Yes, there is a lot of white…
But, I find it serene.
I used a length of burlap with a frayed edge for a runner. I love the textural of the burlap with the glossy white of the plates, vase and birds.
The two plates are Lenox, Butterfly Meadow. I can’t wait to create a tablescape with them.
(Confession time: are Southern Whimsy and I the only ones who lay at night thinking up Tablescapes? lol )
Another bird’s nest is propped up against the vase…
Bells of Ireland and hydrangea blooms. Two of my favorite flowers.
(again, if you missed this easy floral arrangement “how-to” (and I do mean EASY!…you can see it here.
I added bits of black and white polka-dot ribbon to the lid of the apothecary jar and the base of the taller bird, just to add a little whimsy.
That, and I have a “thing” for anything black and white with polka dots. 🙂
That, and I have a “thing” for anything black and white with polka dots. 🙂
I plan on using this same wreath throughout Spring and possibly into the Summer. Simply by changing the bow and adding different elements will give it a completely different look and feel.
But for now, its the perfect breath of Spring.
~ All through the long winter, I dream of my garden. On the first day of spring, I dig my fingers deep into the soft earth.
I can feel its energy, and my spirits soar. ~ Helen Hays

I love black and white, too! Love all your touches. I’m joining in for the first time this week. I loved reading everyone else’s posts last week! I’m dealing with minimal accessories, because I packed a lot of stuff up for our potential move.

Well you were holding out on me with those new birdies. I love them and may just have to pop on over to Michaels now for some. I was given a 60% off Michaels coupon last time I was in there good for this week only. Gee I wonder…..what ever will I use it on? Speaking of planning tablescapes…..girl have I got a plan for our joint one! Love your vignette!

Hi Barb, thanks for visiting me, and hosting what is sure to become one of my favorite parties! It is funny this time of year, trying to decorate and not going overboard with super springy things…I like your wreath and what you’ve done on the chest…you can never have too much white, I use a lot of white. It goes with everything! I admired the same Lenox dishes, but they were too pricey for me! 😉

Barb-I had my post all ready and could not get it to load..so I am late for the party! I adore your square wreath with the hydrangeas. It would be great in a lot of places. I love your new party idea. After all, we all have tabletops! Bells of Ireland are one my favorites. Thanks for hosting. I will keep the church from your area in prayers as they deal with their loss. I can’t even imagine.

Hi Barb! What a pretty Springy vignette! And love that square hydrangea wreath! I peeked at your wonderful tutorial. I may have to try something like this myself! I am vignette and cloche impaired, so I don’t do well at your party or Marty’s…but I love to look! Happy Tuesday…hugs…Debbie

I don’t care what anyone says. Spring is almost here. Our temps are record breaking highs but I hope we don’t pay for it in February.
Your table looks fabulous.
It is a great idea to post for those who don’t blog. I do it in my Writer’s Challenge.

Hi Barb…
My friend, I love your beautiful vignette with the touches of Spring…simply gorgeous!!! I always just giggle when I come to your place because we seem to share so many of the same things! I seen those darling little bird finials at Michaels just last Sunday and thought about getting them…and then I didn’t! After seeing how beautiful they look in your vignette…I wished that I had gotten them! I have such a fondness for anything with the pretty filigree cut-work! Love those gorgeous hydrangaes too! So very beautiful, Darlin’! This fabulous little vignette sure does say “welcome” to all who enter into your beautiful home!
Thank you so much for your sweet note that you left for me. You mentioned the art that I have in my dining room. It really is a beautiful print…the photo doesn’t do it justice! It’s just a print that I ordered online and I found the frame at Hobby Lobby on sale. The frame is really heavy…a substantial piece! Wish you well in your search for art for over your mantel! Sooo much fun, huh? Hehe!
Well Darlin’, thank you so much for hosting this fabulous Tuesday party…I do believe that it’s a “big hit” in Blogland!!! Have a wonderful day, my friend!
Warmest winter wishes,
