I don’t know about you, but here at The Everyday Home –
soup is a staple around here. While some only eat soup
when its cold outside – we eat soup year round. We’ve
never met a soup we didn’t like.
But, come Fall and Winter. It’s time to get our Soup On!
I fix big pots of chili and chicken noodle and Vegetable
Beef and our fave – clam chowder. I thought I would share
10 of our favorite soups.
1) Lasagna Soup
This tastes just as good as it sounds.
Perfect with crusty French bread and an Italian-style salad.
2) Minestrone:
This is the Barefoot Contessa’s Recipe.
My husband could eat Minestrone every day.
If you are a fan of baked peppers stuffed with rice,
tomatoes and sausage, you will be a fan of this soup.
Amazingly, The Hubbs doesn’t care too much for Stuffed Peppers
but he loves this soup. Go figure!
We have this fabulous family-owned bakery down the
street that makes homemade sourdough bread bowls.
Oh my! They are a must when I make this soup.
I am not sure what we like best – the soup or the
sourdough bread that is drenched in the soup.
Now you’re talking my fave soup! I could eat
my weight in this soup. This one is Creole style, which
offers a nice little kick. If I can get my hands on
some crayfish, I like to throw those in, too.
Yum, yum, and more yum!
This happens to be my grandsons’ favorite soup.
And there is gonna be trouble at The Everyday Home
if I happen to leave off the crispy tortilla strips.
I make homemade guacamole for the top.
I fell in true love with French Onion Soup when we
lived in Europe, where they cook it from scratch with beef
bones for hours upon hours. I like to use Julia Child’s recipe.
What is better? The soup – or the bread and crusty
baked cheese on top?
Here in the South, we generally use a salty, smoke-cured country
ham. Or, a smoked hamhock. I like to make Split-Pea Soup using
the leftover ham bone after Easter and Christmas.
This is my DIL’s fave soup. I haven’t fixed this one in
a while. I think a pot is in her very near future.
Sadly, my sweet girl is one of the “furloughed” workers who may
not get paid next week but still has to report for work each day.
(don’t get me started)
and finally, I saved the best for last…
10) Clam Chowder
I wish I had a thousand dollars for every pot of
clam chowder we have eaten and I have made.
We have bags and bags of frozen clams in our freezer
right now, compliments of my darling son who caught
hundreds of clams this past Summer. Clam Chowder is on the
menu for this weekend for Football Sunday!
(note to self: buy sourdough bread bowls)
So that is my 10 Favorite Soup Recipes. Are you a soupologist?
What is your favorite kind of soup.
In my online shops at The Everyday Home Shops ,
I now carry a line of Gluten and MSG-free Soup Mixes.
(with a soy noodle)
and my fave,
I would love to give away one of each of these soups.
Just leave a comment below and tell me what is YOUR
favorite soup you eat at your home, and I will randomly
choose three winners and send you a soup mix.

We are huge soup fans in our house too. Especially this time of year. Our favorite soup is probably a toss up between cream of potato & beer cheese soup. So where do you buy your bread bowls? Or do you make them? Recipe for them??? I will be pinning these for sure to try your soups! Thanks for sharing.

Soup is one of my favorite things in the world. I could eat it everyday. I love it. I make a veggie beef that my family loves. It has mixed veggies, tomatoes and hamburger meat in it. So good with a corn bread muffin, a sandwich or just some saltines. I also love tomato soup and grilled cheese. I make a chicken noodle that my kiddos love too. Now I’m hungry!! I am going to try the lasagna soup for Sunday lunch. It’s supposed to be cool and rainy…sounds perfect.

I love fall, and it brings soup to my mind, and to the table. My favorite of all, is chicken noodle, sometimes made with
View Commentdumplings, if I have the time. Husband loves chili, and we both love it. Today , in Wisconsin, it’s raining and only 56 degrees, so one of these soups will be for dinner tonight. Can’t wait to try some of your delicious recipes.
