If Peter Picked a Pumpkin Planter…

Okay, that’s not exactly how it goes.

But – if Peter could pick a pumpkin planter –

I’m pretty sure Peter would have planted it with succulents.

;-D

I am so happy to join a new group of ladies for

a new monthly Blog Hop –

Celebrations of Home.

I love these ladies. I love our group’s name.

And, I am so excited to be part of it.

This month, the theme is Fall…and I am sharing

Celebrating the Home.

I cannot think of anything more befitting for a group of

bloggers who write and share about projects and recipes

that are near and dear to our hearts.

Celebrations of Home: Fall | The Everyday Home | www.everydayhomeblog.com

I will be sharing a full list of all the participants below,

so please make sure you read to the end.

 …………………………….

My Fall decorating this year is following a few basic rules …

It has to be easy and it has to be budget-friendly.

I love this project because I already had all of the elements.

A white, craft pumpkin and some succulents.

How to Make a Pumpkin Planter | The Everyday Home | www.everydayhomeblog.com

It could not be any easier.

In fact, I have used this same design idea on my front porch,

planted with Fall flowers and sporting our house numbers.

House Number Pumpkin Planter | The Everyday Home

All you do is simply cut off the top of the craft pumpkin.

I use an electric, craft “Hot Knife” which I have had forever.

It truly makes the job sooooo much easier.

It just cuts right through the foam.

They *sell for less than $10, and it’s well worth that.

Once the lid is off, fill with a good potting soil.

And plant.

Then, stand back and enjoy.

I tucked some moss around to add some

additional texture.

I love it.

It’s simple.  Yet, it just sings of Fall.

It’s soft and Autumnal and filled with some of my

favorite things.  I would say that is about perfect.

I placed it on my little blue, Breakfast Room chest.

Fall Apple and Pumpkin Planter Vignette |The Everyday Home | www.everydayhomeblog.com

I filled the tiered-stand with wheat and added a

few red apples.  I haven’t purchased very much this

Season… but I did find these adorable ceramic acorns at

Target for only $3 for a large package.

I have them displayed on two cremeware cupcake stands

next to a turned-wood candlestick and heirloom pumpkin.

Did you notice I tucked in a few mini, red apples…

just like I did in my Easy Apple Wreath Update.

In a few weeks, I will share my Breakfast Room Table

Fall Centerpiece and you will see I carried this theme to

my table, as well,  to tie everything all together.

You’re probably going to notice one other feature I will be using

throughout my home this Fall.

A lot.

Natural, wild grapevine.

My husband thinks it’s a curse that our five acres are inundated

with wild grapevine.  I consider it a blessing.  🙂

I love tucking it behind prints. draping it along a shelf…

and in the case of this Pumpkin Planter… I used it to make

a “Basket Handle.”

A homespun, French-style striped cloth is a nice surprise.

So, as you can see…The Everyday Home is slowly coming around

with touches of Fall here and there.

I will be sharing a Home Tour the first week of October and

I can’t wait for you to see my newly redecorated

I love the look of this, so clean and bright. Sometime I get tired of the traditional fall pieces. This one really pops!
