Mini Fall Signs with Free Printables
Using small 4×4 canvases, you can print out these free printables to make cute Fall Mini Signs that you can add to vignettes and decor – or use as refrigerator magnets.
I think we all know that these little quote signs are quite the thing right now. You can find them almost anywhere with every saying and quote known to man. I think we also know that some of them can be a bit pricey. So, I decided to set out and see if I could make a few of my own. I wanted some mini signs to add the finishing touches to my Breakfast Room Tablescape. It was just a matter of finding all of the supplies I needed. That called for a trip to the craft store.
Some of the following links are #affiliate links. For full disclosure please see my Policies & Disclosure Page.
Resources Needed:
- 4×4 Canvases
- They even make these adorable easels for this size canvas!
- Elmer’s Glue
- Card Stock Paper
Misc. Supplies You Will Need:
- Scissors
- Ruler
- Paper Towel
- (opt) foam paint brush
- printer
Let’s Get Started:
1.) Gather your supplies:
As you can see, all you really need other than the canvases and the printables are common household items.
2.) You will need to print off one or both of these printables.

** Both of these printables are sized at 400×400 which should print at 4″x4″.
These are the 4×4 canvases I purchased. I was surprised to find they had a magnetic backing. I did not prepare the canvas in any way.
3.) Cut out the printables to size…
This was probably the hardest part because of getting the designs cut out straight. I cut a paper template of the canvas, then used the template to create a drawn line around the printable design. I found this worked best.
4.) Add glue to the canvas:
Yes, I used the tip of my finger. LOL You know when you are certain you have an item at home so when you’re out buying supplies you don’t buy that item? That’s the case with a foam paint brush. I know I have several floating around my craft room, but do you think I could place my hands on one?
My finger tip worked fine. Just apply a thin layer of Elmer’s Glue making sure you get a complete coverage. Once covered, sit the canvas aside for about 2 mins to allow the glue to get tacky.
5.) Lay the cut out printable onto the glued canvas:
Once I was happy with the placement, I used a paper towel to lightly tap out any bubbles. Do not rub as this will smear the design and you will have to say some wirty dords and start over. 😀
Let me talk about paper versus card stock. I only had one sheet of white card stock so I printed one design on it and printed the other on plain white printer paper. The stock card definitely worked best and did not wrinkle as much. But, if the wrinkles don’t bother you, save some money and use plain white paper instead.
That’s It!!!
It was just THAT simple.
I loved how they looked on my Breakfast Room Tablescape tucked here and there…
I simply leaned them against the pumpkins and gourds.
I also tucked one into my Tiered Stand in my Breakfast Room which I will share with you soon.
Remember how I said the discovered my canvases had a magnetic backing…how cute is this on my fridge? 🙂
I have another similar project I will be sharing with you in the next few days. I have been making several printables to share and having so much fun. I hope you love this project…. xxoo, Barb
