What is there not to love about Autumn. I love the smell, Piles of leaves to kick after someone has racked them into a nice neat pile. Chilly mornings out on the balcony watching the sun rise while drinking a hot steamy mug of tea. Stew and soups. Simmering pot of orange, cinnamon, cloves and apple juice on the stove. The best part of fall is summer is gone. I hate summer….and then we have hockey season and planning the holidays. Windows open letting in clean, fresh cool air while wrapped in a blanket. No sweating or non stop air conditioner running. The colors. Your pumpkin candle holder is so sweet and I adore the wreath. I love the scent of Bay Leaf.

Chicken Noodle Soup {Winter Cravings Part 1}
Reminds me of my grandmother’s Chicken Noodle Soup and the recipe is pretty close though I don’t remember her putting mushrooms in it. Nothing is better than a pot of soup or stew simmering on the stove on a cold winter’s day. My father wasn’t much of a cook but I don’t think a great deal of men where back in the late 40’s or early ’50. But it was a guarantee that the first snow he would be in the kitchen making he famous Creamy Potato and Leek Soup. We got hit was a storm over the weekend and it was the first thing I thought of when I saw the snow. I made a pot of Creamy Chicken Corn Chowder…and it was yummy. I will have to give your recipe a try next time I make soup.
Old Fashioned Christmas in the Breakfast Room
Love the red and white of your room…everything in it perfect. The cotton ball wreath is gorgeous. I remember my mother had a display of them in huge vase in our dining room. Super job as always and hope that this finds you on the mend and feeling better.
