I am crazy for plaid.
I have purchased several plaid shirts already this year, and what’s even more crazy, I have already started to visualize what my Christmas decor will be this year. You got it! Plaid. So when I saw these amazing plaid pumpkins that my friend, Laura at Junque Cottage was selling, I said sign me up! And I knew exactly where I would display them. A Fall Pumpkin Centerpiece in my Spode Bread Box. Because this English beauty was just screaming to be filled with plaid pumpkins. And I listened. 🙂

I have a few pieces, like dear old friends, that come out each year for different seasons, and I look forward to seeing them again each year. My Spode Woodlands Bread Box is one such piece. I carefully wrap it in bubble wrap at the end of the Fall season, and when I unwrap it to decorate again the following year – it makes me so happy.
Do you have a piece that makes you happy? 😀
When I spotted the plaid pumpkins, they spurred something within my Anglophile English-decor-loving heart. It’s as if they were made specifically for this Spode Bread Box. I ordered two large plaid pumpkins, two medium golden-rust pumpkins and two small burlap pumpkins.
I arranged the centerpiece simply, with some tufts of green moss and a few sprigs of berries. I placed the centerpiece in the center of our bowfront chest in the foyer.
This chest used to sit in our formal Dining Room, but when we had the floors refinished, I decided to place it in the foyer instead. Click here to see what I replaced it with in the DR for Fall. Once again, have been debating about painting this bowfront chest. What say you???
I am so in love with the mercury lamps I placed on each side of our newly renovated Fall Mantel, I purchased two more for this chest. I know, repetitive – but when you find something that works you stick with it. 😀
Instead of burlap shades like I used on the Mantel, I chose a linen shade with nickel finish tacks. I love these shades.
I didn’t add too much more to this vignette… two wood turned candlesticks and two small leaf plates filled with acorns.
I love to hang wreaths over the Foyer’s arched, Cathedral mirror. I think a layered look creates so much interest to a space. I already had a boxwood and cotton wreath I had used over my Farmhouse sink this Summer, so I added some Fall berries and Fall leaves and a plaid bow.
This wreath took me all of 5 minutes to assemble.
So there you have it… my new Plaid Pumpkin Centerpiece in our Foyer. A little Fall greeting – English style.
Thanks for letting me share my 2016 Fall Foyer and Plaid Pumpkin Centerpiece.
xxoo, Barb
