I just can’t help it.
I officially have Spring Fever.
I tried to control it as long as I could.
But…I had a need to “bunnify” something.
This No Sew Sweater Bunny Pillow was the perfect cure.
A $4.69 Goodwill sweater was the perfect color pink.
Cause if I am going to “bunnify” myself, I wanted
something cheery and Springey.
A plain white IKEA pillow cover was the perfect background, too.
I created a paper template by free-handing a bunny pattern
on paper, and cut it out.
Then, I simply traced it onto the sweater and cut it out the shape.
So easy!
Whenever I create anything from a sweater, I am
always asked about fraying and unraveling.
Honestly, with these cable-knit sweaters, they
hardly unravel at all.
I did run a small bead of low-temp hot glue around the edge and
slightly rolled the sweater to create a “finished” look. This will also
prevent extra fraying.
More glue held the bunny pattern into place, applied
right onto the pillow form.
Next, I wanted to make a cute tail.
First I used jute twine, but after I made it – I didn’t like
the “roughness” of it. So, I grabbed some cotton twine…
I wrapped the twine around my four fingers about 20-25 times.
Then, slid it off carefully and tied the center with another smaller
piece of twine., then cut through all of the end loops.
Then it was just a matter of fluffing it out and hot gluing it
onto the bunny.
Ohhhhh, love that cute, little bunny tail.
wiggle, wiggle, wiggle
Finally, I added a bow.
You may recognize this ribbon from my Valentine Wreath project,
One of the reasons I chose this particular ribbon was its
versatility to go from season to season.
I stuffed the pillow with a pillow filler…
And placed it on the front porch in one of our white rockers.
It’s a burst of sweetness and pinkness and Springness and
cheerfulness and “Bunny-ness.”
(feel free to use any of these official words)

This is so cute, Barb! I love cable knit sweaters…in fact, I just bought a mug that looks like it’s wrapped in one! Lol! Your idea for the tail was perfect! I love this project!!

That is adorable. I do not think I would include the bow just because it would most likely be ruined or snagged on something. I love the tail though!

That pillow is just darling, Barb. See, I am one of the people that think it is easier to sew something than glue it…lol…too many burns over the years, I think….that and I don’t want to be caught sniffing the glue!;>) Love the cute tail, too. xo Diana

I would be more likely to sew him, just because it would be easier for me. I love his tale, all he needs now is a button eye.
