“Moss-Covered Pool Noodle Spring Wreath”

We don’t own a pool.

I wish we owned a pool.

And a cabana.

And a hunky cabana boy bringing me little umbrella drinks

and fluffy white towels.

But, alas.  No pool.

Unless you consider the Sponge Bob Kiddie Pool a “pool.”

So – why in the world would I buy not one but TWO pool noodles

at the Dollar Tree?

To make a Spring Wreath.  Of course.

Yep, two noodles.  In green.

Two spongy and soft tubes which could easily be

cut and shaped and taped back together.

Because what else could you use that costs a total of $2 and would

give you a large oval shape to make a wreath?

But, but, but…pool noodles don’t make pretty wreaths.  Do they?

Well, they are green… but surely I could do better than a plastic,

spongey elongated squishy wreath.  Couldn’t I?

Our front door was greatly hoping I could. 

So I purchased a $12 package of moss sheeting…

(woot!)

Then, I cut the sheeting up into approximately 6″x6″ squares.

Using my low-temp glue gun –

(low temp so it would not melt the noodles, cause I really hate

melted noodles don’t you?)

…. I attached the moss squares to the front of the wreath form.

I did not bother completely covering the entire circumference, 

although you certainly could if you chose to.

This is how the front-side looks like.

Keep adding the squares until it’s completely covered.

I added an assortment of pretty Spring flowers –

Blues and pinks and yellows…

– and cute, little speckled eggs tucked here and there.

A plaid ribbon pulls together all of the colors, and a burlap mesh

ribbon adds a touch of rustic.

Yep!  There’s that multi-use plaid ribbon again as seen in 

“How to Create a Double Bow Like a Pro!“

 

And, one of my favorite Bunny friends, “Beaumont” from

last year’s Easter Mantel came out to play.

What a sweet face!

Finally – I finished the wreath with a simple burlap banner…

I will show you how simple this was to make in a few days.

Who would ever believe that under that moss-covered form are

$1 Pool Noodles?
