To me, a Farmhouse Table evokes memories of growing up on a
large NC Farm – with one of my Mama’s huge farm breakfasts
spread out in the center of the table.
Platters of eggs, country ham and crispy bacon, a big bowl of grits
and a gravy boat filled with red-eye gravy.
Stacks of pancakes, homemade buttermilk biscuits and
plenty of molasses for sopping.
(If’n you don’t know what “sopping” is – ask a Southerner.)
As much as these breakfasts were about the food – it was more
about family. My Mama and Daddy’s Farmhouse Table
was where we talked about the coming day’s events – celebrated
birthday’s, laughed with each other – cried with each other.
And generally, shared our lives together.

I know all about sopping molasses and red eye gravy. Lived in middle Tennessee all my life.
We have a hundred year old farm table in our dining room that I absolutely love. Really enjoyed this post.
Blessings,

Hi, I just found your blog jumpin around on Pinterest.. I was so excited too. . . I had pinned (or thought I had anyway) your post about adding farmhouse charm, but I lost the dang thing. . . it makes me happy to stumble upon it again. . .
I have a new blog (I added the website above) I’m not sure if the URL works, I don’t get a lot of traffic. But I’m on Pinterest (Debora Cook) and I have a blog board there. I’d love for you to check it out. . . its called Real Simple Style. . . all about our farmy house. . .
take care, I love your blog. . .

Do you give out the plans to build this particular farmhouse table? My daughter and her husband (newlyweds) lost everything in The Great Flood of 2016 (Louisiana). I want to build her a new table and she’s a fan of the Farmhouse style. This is my way to show them my love as a mother and how heart wrenching this is for me. They lost 3 horses in this horrific event. I’m beyond sad. Anything you can do would be appreciated.
