Easy DIY Wreath Ornaments

This year, I am starting early on my Christmas ornaments. I want a tree that feels old-fashioned and handmade.  I found these mini wreaths on sale and knew I wanted to incorporated some custom designed printables. These DIY Wreath Ornaments are perfect.

Easy DIY Wreath Ornament | The Everyday Home

I know it seems odd to be showcasing Christmas Ornaments during a Fall month, but sharing these now will allow you plenty of time to craft some of these ornaments for your own use.

This year, I want our Christmas to have an old-fashioned theme.  That means lots of plaids and homespun fabrics, wreaths and grapevine and old-fashioned accents like Christmas bells.  I wanted to create some printables which I could easily frame to create an ornament.  When I spied the smaller grapevine wreaths, I knew they would be perfect for this project.

Resources You Will Need for these DIY Wreath Ornaments:

  • Mini Grapevine Wreaths from Hobby Lobby
  • Christmas Floral Picks from Hobby Lobby
  • White Card Stock Paper
  • Mini Red Christmas Bells
  • My most favorite cordless glue gun in the history of glue guns
  • Flannel Christmas Ribbon from Hobby Lobby

Other Christmas Ornaments from The Everyday Home

  • DIY Mason Jar Plaid Ornaments
  • Snowball Christmas Ornaments (You will NOT believe how I made these.)

Let’s Get Started:

As you can see, you don’t need a lot of supplies.  I added some Christmas leaves and greenery and some small bells as accents, but you can opt to simply tie a simple bow and ribbon hanger for a more scaled down version.  You will also need the printables, which I am sharing with you for FREE!

*** Keep in mind I did not create these printables for a specific size so they could be used for a variety of projects.  I would suggest you print them out in Black & White and adjust the size, as needed.

I used a small bowl to draw a circle around my printable design, and cut it out.

I glued the design onto the backside of a small grapevine wreath.  These are about 5″ in diameter. You could also use small embroidery hoops.

I found these floral picks at Hobby Lobby and instantly fell in love with their old-fashioned appeal.  I cut them up into smaller, more usable bits and pieces.

You can use a small loop-style ribbon bow…

…or just tie a basic bow like I did.

I tucked in some of the fabric leaves (cut down to size) and some of the greenery then added bells to the center of the bows.  Finally, I glued on a ribbon loop hanger.

I loved how they turned out and that I can create several of them quickly and easily to fill a tree.

I think these will make an “old-fashioned” statement on our tree.

Very pretty, Barb! Love the old-fashioned look of these.

I’m so sorry you’ve developed plantar fasciitis. It is NO FUN, is it? A good way to tell if it’s actually PA: does your foot hurt WORSE when you first wake up in the morning?

Let me encourage you. I was amazed to find that many, many people have suffered with PA. The most important thing I learned? It does finally go away. It may last awhile, but take heart: it will heal.

A nurse recommended the Strassburg Sock to me, and it helped more than anything else. It should cost you no more than $30-40 either at a local shop or online. I found it on Amazon, but only saw the large calf size or pediatric size–you need the regular. Anyway, you should know going in that it’s not particularly comfortable to wear. In fact, you might wake up at some point in the night and tear it off. But it’s worth it. It holds your foot in a gentle stretch so that you don’t suffer that horrible pain upon waking up. Good luck!

I LOVE these ornaments. A few years ago my sisters, cousin and I made some of these with my grandparents wedding and 60th anniversary picture in them. Adding some of these (and freshening our old ones with the plaid ribbons and bells will be so fun!

I’m so looking forward to making several of these. I just ordered a new table top tree that has a lot of flocking so the wood tone of the wreaths will look perfect on the white flocking! Have a wonderful holiday season!

Can you please show a picture of the whole tree? I love the printables! I am also changing up one of my trees and using a larger size red/white plaid ribbon. (I almost bought the big Pom Pom chain that I see on your tree! I’d love to see how it looks. I was going to buy 3. How many would you suggest for a 9’ tree?)

      Linda,
I didn’t decorate the whole tree, lol. Only enough to photograph these ornaments. I LOVE the pom-pom garlands by the way. 🙂 I bought 6 of them, all they had.
