{Headboard Ideas }
I would like to say our recent adventure in our flip house was a success,
as in it sold quickly and we have moved onto another house.
I would like to say that very much.
But, it’s still on the market – waiting for the buying season to kick back in again.
No worries, we have faith and know it’s just a matter of time before the
perfect couple comes along looking for a cute house which was remodeled with a ton of love.
I thought I would share a little more of the design details I added to this home when I started staging.
Naturally, the money was getting tight at the end.
But, as a former Realtor, I also knew the importance of staging a property for sell.
So, I got on my thinking cap and “shopped my home” for some items in storage.
The bed itself was an easy fix.
My son had a queen-sized blow-up mattress that came with its own stand.
{FYI, this is what we used when we went camping and boy-oh-boy did it save our backs.}
🙂
The one thing I purchased for this bed was this pillow…
Ain’t she purdy?
I love this bird print.
{ $12 at Marshall’s. }
I had two small tables in storage, as well.
A small one with some carving on the front and a wood top.
The small bird lamp was purchased this Spring when Suzy at Worthing Court and I
took a little trip down to Georgia to visit Debbie at Confessions of a Plate Addict.
I found this little jewel at The Queen of Hearts, a fabulous vintage and antique shop.
Squeal! A little lamp + a little bird = Love at first sight.
The second table, I must confess, was a mess.
Plain and simple and dinged up from about 6 moves across the World.
(sorry I don’t have a before and after)
But a quick coat of paint on the top…
(I love the way the beaded trim comes out with the new paint)
… and a quick coat of a dark stain on the legs was all it needed.
I think I honestly spent about 30 mins in this table makeover.
But, what was stumping me was a headboard.
I wanted something different. But, most of all I wanted something cheap.
Or better yet…FREE! 🙂
Enter…three pieces of wrought iron which were sitting in my “Yard Sale Pile.”
I had two oblong decorative panels…
and one narrow decorative piece which had hung above a doorway.
I actually hung these using Command Strips.
(no damage to walls)
A blue coverlet rolled up at the end of the bed, some blue throw pillows
borrowed from my home. and a few accessories…and I had an
“almost”-free staged Master Bedroom.
I don’t know about you – but in MY book…almost FREE is “a very good thing.”
{ to quote Martha! }
🙂
I would love for you to pin this to your favorite Pinterest Boards…

Barb, it really looks very inviting and certainly would give the buyer some terrific ideas for making their room lovely. I love that it is not done with matchy matchy furniture! Great look!

I forgot all about that adorable lamp, Barb. So cute and it looks terrific in that bedroom. Really great idea for the headboard! I never would have thought of combining several different pieces together.
