$1.

It doesn’t go very far these days.

My sweet Mama and Daddy talks about the 5-cent Coke and the

25-cent/ gallon gas.

Back in their days, $1 would buy you a Coke, a movie ticket, some

popcorn and maybe even some juju beans.  Laughing

Today, you can get a McDonald’s burger or a small fry…

“or” being the key word there.

I can fill up my four tires with air, if I hurry.

My grandsons can each get a small plastic toy in a plastic

egg from the grocery store machines which last about

ten minutes before its broken and nothing but fodder in

the floor of my van.

Then, there is the $1 Mecca – known as Dollar Tree.

Not the Dollar Store where they trick you into coming in, only to find

that things costs waaaaay more than $1.

Things cost as much as $2 or $3.  What???? Surprised

I took two of these plain white plates.  Total = $2.

And using one of these…

I created some one-of-a-kind Halloween plates.

The spiderweb plate received a 3-D touch with a sparkly spider

clinging to its web. (a dab of hot glue held it on)

I free-handed  “potion ingredients” using different fonts, using

Picmonkey as inspiration.

I didn’t create straight lines to use as guidelines, I didn’t do a trial

run on a piece of paper prior to starting.

I just started writing.  And scribbling. And doodling.

Scary, huh?  Smile

So, while $1 may not buy you a movie ticket, large soda, popcorn and

juju beans like it used to…

It WILL buy you some cute and totally unique Halloween plates.

They’re better on your teeth than the juju beans anyway. Sealed

Scarf on Saturday – for the No-Sew Showcase: Halloween Edition.
