Now it’s just a matter of tweaking and poofing and sweeping and vacuuming the glitter. Lots of glitter. And faux snow. How does that faux snow get in all those crevices way back behind that hutch and on top of that cabinet?
My kitchen is very simple in style, in comparison to past years. Here is my kitchen that was featured in Country Woman magazine several years ago.
(You can see it has undergone quite a change.)
This year, I added natural elements with just a touch of glitter.
Because we use the breakfast room table often, I wanted something that could be pushed to the side, and also easily removed for my parent’s 60th Anniversary Party this Sunday.
A simple drop cloth runner and some gathered containers from around the house… a white pitcher, a galvanized bucket, and some cloches…
Lemon cedars, rosemary and paperwhites… simple.
My kitchen smells amazing right now. I love the mixture of the aromas of the rosemary and greenery.
I shared my CHRISTMAS HUTCH here.
On the blue sidechest by the table, I added more mini trees surrounded by greenery and white lights.
I have shopped for my Christmas decor in some unexpected places this year. Staples, Home Depot, The Tractor Supply Store. (a great place for galvanized containers, btw) 🙂
I added some glittery buffalo snow to the bases of the tree to hide the dirt. This mini cedar was picked up at Walgreens when I stopped by to get some Vitamins.
Don’t you just love a store where you can get Vitamins, lipstick, Ibuprofen and mini cedar trees? 🙂
To tie all three areas together – I added just a few glittery touches here and there…
I will share the rest of my kitchen with you tomorrow. It pretty much reflects the same style that you see here. Natural elements, mini trees and Staples tags. 🙂
So are you ready to share YOUR Christmas Inspirations? You can share a project from this year, last year, your all time project or recipe ever from way back when – it doesn’t matter.
Post your project here, and it will appear on FOUR other blogs at the same time. My fantastic co-hosts for this event are:
Suzie at Worthing Court
Amy at Atta Girl Says
Laura at Top This, Top That
Shirley at Housepitality Designs
Each of us will pick our fave project and share that next week with everyone! Of the five faves, you could win a $25 Gift Certificate to my online shop, Farmhouse Decor. (formerly details)
So post as many projects as you would like. All we ask is that you link back to this party so everyone can see all the great posts shared. Here is a smaller button if you want to use it.
I can’t wait…. now its your turn to share!

View CommentI think I have told you before, your new kitchen is beautiful but the red one was pretty spectacular too.
View CommentI got a late start too! However, you have done a beautiful job playing catch up! Looking at all the beautiful inspiration makes me want to start over! Thanks for hosting!
View CommentBarb, Your home is such an inspiration. I’ve learned so much by following blogs such as yours. And my holiday decorating has changed drastically. Your kitchen is gorgeous! I wouldn’t have the guts to change something that’s already so beautiful. Once I get something the way I like it, it takes an act of Congress for me to change it. But… I guess that’s what it’s all about. Thanks for hosting!
