“And all through the house…”
I am so excited to share our formal Dining Room
as part of a huge Christmas Tour that started on Monday.
I am co-hosting a fabulous Christmas Tour, along with
Jennifer at Town and Country Living – called
“All Through the House.”
Today is all about Dining Rooms…
so let’s get started with my own tour shall we?
I do have one more co-host to introduce you to…
Mr. Christmas Mouse
He will be guiding you through each day of the tour, so please
make sure you read to the end so you can see everyone who
participated in the tour.
The Everyday Home Christmas Dining Room
Last week, during another Christmas Tour, I
shared our Dining Room Christmas Mantel in detail.
Today, I am sharing the rest of the room and the details
which pulled this room together.
If you remember from my Mantel Post, the inspiration for
this room were Tartan Plaid and Houndstooth Ribbons.
These same ribbons were carried throughout the room,
and in fact – were carried through much of the rest of our
home – which I will be sharing all next week.
The garland around the Dining Room Sideboard featured
many of the same layers that make up the mantel. I am
so in love with frosted greenery and berries this year.
The tartan plaid ribbon, along with the houndstooth ribbon,
were loosely intertwined throughout the greenery.
Lots of white lights and frosted red berries were added in for color.
A set of antlers is nestled into the center of the garland.
I made a simple arrangement in my antique pink and white
Staffordshire tureen, which never leaves the room.
Greenery and colorful Christmas balls surround a sparkly candle.
Each side of the centerpiece features a mercury glass lamp,
a pink and white Staffordshire pitcher, a mercury glass tree
and votive holder.
Let’s move over to the table…
I started out with a simple miniature cedar planted in a
knobby, white bowl. Silver balls surround the base.
To create this centerpiece, I started with a base of a cut-up,
inexpensive garland pieces. This allowed me to have a foundational
layer to build on. I added in lots of frosted greenery,
frosted pinecones and silver ornaments.
On each side of the cedar tree, I placed my large black lanterns
topped with a simply tied tartan plaid bow. A pair of
silver reindeer are placed in the center, as well.
The wingback chairs on each end have cozy pillows.
I made sweater pillows and tied them with houndstooth ribbon,
and added a sprig of pine and some cotton to pay
homage to my Southern roots.
Speaking of Southern touches…
each side chair back is decorated with more
Houndstooth, pine, red berries, a white antler
and a large magnolia bloom.
“Well, hello gorgeous.”
More plaid. More cotton.
What can I say… I was on a roll.
😀
The last few touches are a basket of cozy throws and a
Goodwill Sweater Pillow which I made last year…
I love this room at night. The lights cover the room
in a soft glow and it makes me want to cuddle up in one
of the wingbacks and read and relax.
We’ll spend Christmas Eve here with all of the family, and
the table centerpiece will be surrounded by platters of goodies.
And all through the house…
… there will be laughter, love and lots of good cheer.
There may even be a clatter, or two.
Thank you for letting me share our Dining Room with you.
I would love it if you would share this image.

Just so you know, I’m coming for Christmas Eve. 🙂 Your dining room is stunning! It’s perfect – not overdone or underdone – it’s just right and is so inviting! The houndstooth and plaid ribbons look awesome together. I think you should zip down to South Carolina and decorate my dining room. I’m definitely gonna borrow some of your ideas. Beautiful! Can’t wait to see more of your home.

Beautiful Christmas Dining Room. You are so lucky to have that gorgeous mantel in your dining room. I love all the different ribbon you incorporated into your design. I love to use lots of ribbon in my holiday decorating too. It makes such an impact for relatively little expense. Thanks for sharing your post on Share Your Style.
