My grandma used to have a saying…
“I’m busier than a cat trying to cover poop
on a marble floor.”
That’s me these past few weeks.
I have a feeling everyone reading this may very well be
the same way. ‘Tis the season.
So I decided to share one of my favorite
easy cookie “recipes.”
{calling it a recipe is a stretch}
All you “busy girls” out there will appreciate this.
It’s no bake. No mess. No fuss.
Chocolate Covered Peppermint Oreos
I am taking part in
The Everyday Home’s 2015 Cookie Exchange.
This is an open Party where bloggers are invited to share some
of their favorite cookie recipes.
You can also find hundreds of cookie recipes on my
Pinterest Board – Christmas Cookie Exchange.
Things are wrapping up here at The Everyday Home.
The pace is slowing, for which I am grateful.
This weekend will be the official
“Grammy’s Great Christmas Baking Weekend.”
{think flour and sprinkles on every surface and all over three little ones.}
But for today – I wanted to share something that
even those who are baking challenged could master.
Or, time-challenged, as most of us are.

If you can melt chocolate, you are already at expert level
when it comes to this recipe. I use Wilton Baking Melts
because I think they offer the smoothest of textures.
I chose to use the Double-Stuff Oreos so I would have
a thicker cookie. Just roll the cookie in the melted chocolate…

… then place the chocolate-covered cookies on a baking sheet.
You can cover the pan with parchment or foil if you wish.
I created two chocolate-covered varieties and two
white chocolate-covered varieties.

I used *Wilton’s Peppermint Crunch.
Yes, you can crush your own peppermints, but this was soooo easy.
I also used *Wilton’s 6-Color Sprinkles
Make sure you apply the sprinkles or crushed peppermint to
the cookies while the chocolate is still soft.

I created two packages worth of Chocolate Covered Oreos and
packaged them in these *cute and festive boxes for
gifts for neighbors.
So who says a busy girl can’t still pull off some
pretty amazing looking recipes and projects?
Did you happen to catch my
“Busy Girls Easy 3-Step Christmas Wreath?”
Now if you really feel guilty about all the effort you saved by
not actually baking – by all means – throw some flour on your
face, toss around some sprinkles in the kitchen – even smear
some chocolate on your shirt.

But personally, if it were me – I would turn on Hallmark,
make some coffee, grab a cookie or three – and relax.
‘Cause over in that corner are a gazillion gifts that
still need to be wrapped.
😀

Anything that looks this awesome and has the phrase “busy girl” in the title works for me! I never knew you could buy pre-crunched peppermint either! Love it all!

View CommentI already linked up to the other party, but I saw this on facebook and came back again. I love easy treats, and your Oreos look so pretty! 🙂
View CommentI’ve received these “cookies” for gifts many years from my kiddos at church. Always…. they were the best treat ever. I could discipline myself for most Christmas cookies…. but these… oh my!
View CommentBarbara,
These are the most easiest and yummy cookie recipe to make. LOL, I am going to make these for sure. Love all these yummy recipes I have seen.
View CommentThis type of “baking” is just my cup of tea. Or bite of cookie. Walmart has a gluten free version of oreos which are awesome- I need to give this a try.
View CommentWow, who cares if they’re not from scratch. They are so pretty and who doesn’t love oreos. Great idea.
View CommentI cannot wait to try out these Chocolate Covered Oreos! They are my absolute favorite! They look great! Thanks for sharing! 🙂
View CommentHow can you go wrong with oreos? No matter how you wrap them, they are great. I have to try these.
