” Autumn is a second Spring where every
leaf is a flower. “
I took a deep sigh today.
Did you hear it?
It’s the same sound you hear every October 1st.
It’s a sigh that cooler weather and “all things pumpkin”
have arrived.
It’s Fall Y’all.
And I could not be happier.
Fall is my season. I relish in it and my spirit
reawakens from a hot, long, Southern Summer.
I have been in a decorating bliss for days. I am very
excited to share my Southern Home –
dressed in Traditional Autumn splendor.
2015 Fall Home Tour
I have been sharing some incredible projects all
this week as part of the
” Fall in Love With Your Home” Tour.
Please make sure you check out all of the categories and
links below and visit all of these fabulous Blogs.
……………………………….
So I would love to invite you inside my home.
I must warn you – this post is picture heavy.
So grab some coffee or wine or whatever your fave
beverage may be…
(sweet iced-tea with lemon for me, please) 😀
… and enjoy your visit.
I do have a confession, though.
Some of these pics are not all that great.
🙁
They were taken at 10am when it looked like
7pm outside. Pouring rain with the threat of a
Hurricane breathing down our backs. Oy.
So, I apologize.
Let’s start in the Foyer…

2015 Fall Home Tour | The Everyday Home
Our foyer is long and narrow, with half on one side
of the front door and the other half on the other side.
This antique chest and arched mirror sits on the right.
I hung my favorite Fall wreath on the mirror…

2015 Fall Home Tour | The Everyday Home
I also used one of my favorite Fall-themed containers…
A Spode Woodland Bread Box.

2015 Fall Home Tour | The Everyday Home
I filled it with dried magnolia leaves, a yellow mum, dried
hydrangea, mini pumpkins, gourds and berries.
I love taking this beauty out each Fall. It’s like a long,
lost friend I have missed for a whole year. 🙂
*( I LOVE this Spode Woodland Hunting Dogs Bread Box.)
Now let’s head into the Kitchen …

2015 Fall Home Tour | The Everyday Home
I made a Burlap and Galvanized Letter “Gather” Sign for
above the Farmhouse sink. I will share the full how-to next week.
Then, I added a simple ornamental kale to a
white, ironstone tureen…

2015 Fall Home Tour | The Everyday Home
On the opposite side of the kitchen…

2015 Fall Home Tour | The Everyday Home
(Note the cabinets STILL do not have any hardware. 😀
More on that later!)
…I added another mum and a chalkboard sign
plus a white, ceramic pumpkin jar.

2015 Fall Home Tour | The Everyday Home
The little niche above also received a touch of Fall…

2015 Fall Home Tour | The Everyday Home
I used a lot of natural cuttings from my yard to fill
vases and containers. I especially love the dogwood leaves
this time of year. The leaves have a variety of Fall colors.

2015 Fall Home Tour | The Everyday Home
On the island… I filled another vintage scale with
an heirloom pumpkin on a bed of moss.

2015 Fall Home Tour | The Everyday Home
One of my favorite displays is this large, dough bowl
filled with pumpkins and gourds and grapevine.

2015 Fall Home Tour | The Everyday Home
All of these touches are simple and easy
to duplicate. If you have not noticed,
I like to combine a combination of real greenery and
pumpkins, with faux pumpkins and dried flowers and
faux leaves and berries. Using real makes the faux look
more realistic. And using faux makes the arrangements
last a little while longer.
*(Get your own rustic dough bowl.)

2015 Fall Home Tour | The Everyday Home
I love how the pops of orange make my Farmhouse Blue
and White Kitchen come alive for Fall.

2015 Fall Home Tour | The Everyday Home
I have also tucked in cotton balls soaked in a mixture of
*French Vanilla and *Pumpkin Spice Oils within
the arrangements and my kitchen smells divine!
Now let’s head into the
Breakfast Room …

2015 Fall Home Tour | The Everyday Home
I am still so in love with the Board ‘n Batten treatment we
added to our kitchen and breakfast room. I can’t believe
how much lighter and whiter it makes the whole space.
Well, accept on dark, rainy days when a Hurricane
is approaching. LOL
A few weeks back, I shared an Easy Apple and Berry Wreath
update. The wreath hangs around Cleetus,
our Farmhouse pig.

2015 Fall Home Tour | The Everyday Home
The wreath received another new, more Autumnal update….

2015 Fall Home Tour | The Everyday Home
Cotton and berries and a pretty, multi-ribbon bow.
I will teach you this easy bow-making technique soon.
The cotton is actually a *wreath I simply attached and
fluffed the leaves around.
The blue and white soup tureen was filled with small
gourds and fluffy, green moss.

2015 Fall Home Tour | The Everyday Home
On the other side of the breakfast room table…

2015 Fall Home Tour | The Everyday Home
… my little blue chest boasts a Fall vignette featuring my

2015 Fall Home Tour | The Everyday Home
Last week, I shared my Farmhouse Style
Breakfast Room Table Centerpiece.
I also included a little lesson for layering a Vignette.

2015 Fall Home Tour | The Everyday Home
Finally, let’s go into
the Living Room…
This is the room I had the most trouble photographing.
(well, accept the kitchen and foyer and breakfast room) 😀
It’s an interior room and even on a nice, sunny
day its dark. My mantel is rather beautiful,
but it sure didn’t photograph well.

2015 Fall Home Tour | The Everyday Home
I added a Jacobean fabric to the back wall.
It’s such a beautiful print full of Fall colors.
Mr. Buck was happy to see me add black urns full of
twigs and leaves and dried magnolia leaves.
I am expecting to see him start munching on them
anytime now.
(I promise better pics soon)

2015 Fall Home Tour | The Everyday Home
A large reclaimed-wood tray sits on the hearth and is
filled to the brim with pumpkins and gourds and
dried hydrangea.

2015 Fall Home Tour | The Everyday Home
The table received two layers of fabric… more of the Jacobean print
that was on the fireplace wall…and a coordinating stripe.

2015 Fall Home Tour | The Everyday Home
Last year, I saw a wood box at Lowes priced higher than I was
willing to pay. So I made my own.

2015 Fall Home Tour | The Everyday Home
This wooden box is filled with a myriad of Fall lovelies..
and includes my fave – real NC cotton!

2015 Fall Home Tour | The Everyday Home
On the sideboard, Autumnfest continues.

2015 Fall Home Tour | The Everyday Home
A new set of antlers is hung above the print and holds a
sprig of fresh grapevine.

2015 Fall Home Tour | The Everyday Home
One of my husband’s pewter, college trophies holds
pheasant feathers, and a small silver dish holds acorns.

2015 Fall Home Tour | The Everyday Home
My beloved Pink and White Stafforshire Soup Tureen is planted
with mums, kale and has dried artichokes and heirloom pumpkins
tucked in. A fresh grapevine handle tops it all.

2015 Fall Home Tour | The Everyday Home
Last Christmas, I pulled up two large wingback chairs at
each end of the formal Dining Room table.
We love it.
And the cats fight over this space since I added this cozy,
Fall-colored cable-knit throw and leaf pillow.
(throw from Target)
So that’s it. At least, that is all I could get photographed.
I know, I know.
It was a looooong tour, huh? 🙂
I will share more details soon, and also share some
other Fall projects which I have been working on.
Join me on Monday for some
EASY Chocolate-Pumpkin-Nut Brownies.
Oh yea… I went there. 😀

OH, BARB!! I’m so sorry you’re dealing with the hurricane–even as far inland as Durham we’ve been rained on like crazy. But even if some of your photos aren’t up to your usual standard, they’re still beautiful! You have such a flair, and it really shines in the Autumn. LOVE the way you use your English china to such great effect. I need to take a lesson from you and actually use the pieces I have! And you’re absolutely right about combining faux with real. Leaves, moss, flowers, gourds, pumpkins–all little touches of real that can be picked up for cheap or free, and what a big impact they make!
Thanks so much for the tour of your beautiful home. 🙂
View CommentThanks Richella that is so sweet – and yes, this is the most rain I think I have ever seen in my lifetime. (accept in England – lol) I love using my china. I want you to take yours out today and start using it more. LOL Thanks for stopping by and for your kind words. xxoo, Barb
View CommentYour tour was the bright spot in my otherwise blah grey day! We were promised s pretty Fall weekend. Ha!! Joaquin is screwing that up for sure.
View CommentAs usual, your tours never disappoint! Beautiful and inspirational. We share the luv for bringing in the natural and adding to the seasons bounty.
Hippy weekend Barb. Stay dry .
Thank you my sweet friend. What an ordeal trying to take decent pics. Yea, I am a “rain” kinda gal but even this is getting to be enough!!!! 😀 Thanks for your kind words. xxoo, Barb
View CommentI have enjoyed this at least a dozen times and always notice something new. LOVE YOUR HOME!
View CommentOne question…..where is that fun fall kitchen towel from? I truly NEED that!!!
Patty I got it just a few days ago from Marshall’s. It was part of a combo pack with the orange striped one. Fun huh? Thanks so much for your kind words and for stopping by. ~Barb
View CommentI am new to your blog and love your ideas. I have a bread box like the one you used and want to also put flowers in it. How do you keep the breadbox for getting ruined when you water the flowers.
View CommentHi Joanne – do you mean the Spode or the Vintage green one in my breakfast room. If its the vintage one, I line it with a thick black trash bag and also use a plastic pot liner. Hope that helps. Welcome to The Everyday Home, glad to have you here for a visit and hope you come back. 🙂 ~Barb
View CommentFall is my favorite time of year. Since I’m still in unpacking mode, I’ll enjoy fall decorating vicariously through your lovely home. Everything looks so cozy and elegant, love it.
View CommentThanks Sheila. I didn’t decorate last Fall because I was so sick, so I *may have gone a little overboard. 😀 Thanks for stopping by. xxoo, Barb
View CommentBarb,

I love it all! All the centerpieces are beautiful! So many special touches.
View Commentbarb, everything looks so fall and festive. when did you have time to get the house all dolled up and decorated?
View CommentLaura – lots and lots of late nights (as in 2am) and some major last minute all out decorating and stressing. You know. Normal time. 😀 Thanks for stopping by, my friend. xxoo
View CommentGorgeous, gorgeous, lady! I love every bit of your inviting, welcoming and cozy Fall home. You always create beautiful vignettes and use awesome textures. Hope you’re staying dry down there … I’m over all of this rain we’re getting, but I suppose it could be worse!
View CommentSTOP. I can’t take any more!! 😉 Wow, I’m blown away with your fabulous fall home (notice the hurricane reference). One day I hope to see all this in person! It’s impossible to pick a favorite thing, although I’m in LOVE with your vintage scales. And Cleetus never looked better! Thanks so much for organizing this tour – it’s been great. Happy Fall, my friend!
View CommentLOVE your kitchen, Barb!! I noticed we have a few of the same items! The white ceramic pumpkin, and the kitchen towels … the one with the orange stripes and the one with the fall words on it! Sharing your tour on my FB page today!
View CommentI LOVE your home!! Fall is my favorite time of the year and I love all the touches and vignettes. Where did you find the wonderful Leaf Pillow? I LOVE it…it would match my living room decor beautifully!!

View CommentYour home is gorgeous girl!!! It’s so warm and inviting.! LOVE all the beautiful fall touches! Thanks so much for inviting me to be a part of your beautiful tour!
View CommentWhat a pretty home. I have yet to gear up and get ready for fall around my house. The decor is laying out scattered across the room. Does that count?
View CommentOh yes, it matters very much. 😀 I won’t talk about the Easter eggs that still roll out from under the couch when I vacuum. I guess that is my “head start” on Easter decorating. 😀 Thanks for stopping by. xxoo,Barb
View CommentBarb, your home is simply stunning. Gorgeous x 10.

View CommentYou have a beautiful home. Wow, I love all the lovely details you have added to your fall decor. Lovely, kitchen and drooling over the cutting board rack thingy. I want one. : ) I enjoyed the tour and thanks so much for doing this tour.
Thanks, sweet friend. I got that wire rack at World Market not too long ago, fyi. 🙂 It was meant to hold cookbooks on the side of the island but I changed my mind last minute. Glad you were part of the tour too. Thanks for stopping by and thanks also for your sweet words. xxoo, Barb
View CommentYour home is SO lovely, Barb! Love all of your beautiful treasures! I thought I spied an old phone on your sideboard! My hubby would be green with envy if he saw it!
View CommentYes, I love my vintage phone. We bought it in England for about $3. 😀 Thanks for your sweet words and for dropping by. Fyi, there is a close-up pic of it on my most recent post. ~ Barb
View CommentVery pretty! I’m in love with that arched mirror in the entry. And those tiny gourds above the kitchen sink with the pop of color from the flowers in that hanging bucket gives it just the right touch.
View CommentThanks for sharing with us at the #HomeMattersParty link party.
Super super cute! I love your kitchen, especially your sink area! It’s stunning! Thank you for sharing at Dream. Create. Inspire. Link! I always love to see your posts Barb!

View CommentHey I love your Farmhouse look! Can you show me a closer pic or tell me more about your clear bottles on your counter, they have white labels with blue writing? it might say Fresh Lemonade on the label? They are super cute!
View CommentSaw a short explanation of making terra cotta pots look nautical with sand. Can’t search your website to find the complete tutorial. Was also wondering by using Elmer’s blue, obviously these are only indoor use?
