“Breakfast is Ready….Come and Get it!”
I’ve come a long way, baby!
Well, at least as far as breakfast is concerned.
Raised on a large farm, it was not unusual to have a huge
homemade breakfast every morning growing up.
Buttermilk biscuits, ham and eggs, grits, preserves…
the whole kit and kaboodle.
As a teenager, I drove a school bus my Junior and Senior Year.
(yes, I was the last generation of school kids who drove buses!)
I was out the door at 6am, so I rarely ate breakfast to be honest.
Then, later as an adult when my career took over – once again breakfast
kinda took a back seat to life.
Now that I am a full-time Grammy, I have two little ones to feed.
They arrive hungry and ready to greet the day at 7:30 every morning.
I don’t buy cereal and pop-tarts and such – so finding something a
4-year old and a 20-month old will eat gets challenging.
I was happy to discover these little sandwiches by Jimmy Dean.
Eggs Whites, Spinach and Mozzarella on Honey Wheat Flatbread.
For me, it’s good because they are only 160 calories each.
For them, they are easy for little fingers to handle, tasty and healthy, too,
when paired with some fresh fruit and yogurt.
They think it’s the perfect breakfast that goes well with Dinosaur Train.
Jimmy Dean has a fabulous line of new and healthier breakfast
items called “Delights.”
My hubby likes the Candian Bacon, Egg White and Cheese on a
Honey Wheat English Muffin.
Look for them at Walmart in the Breakfast Aisle.
