I love Easter!
I love to gather with my family and celebrate the rebirth of
our Lord and Savior. It’s a yearly spiritual awakening for me
which I look forward to each year. Easter also represents the
official beginning of Spring. I can put away the remnants of
our Winter decor, and out comes the tulips and daffodils, and
cute Bunnies on the tables.
Today, I am sharing our Kitchen and Breakfast
Room, dressed in blues, whites and tan. So come on
in and let’s have some iced tea, sit a spell – and visit.
Farmhouse Kitchen Dressed for Spring
………………………………
The day I took these images, the sun was pouring through
the picture window on my Easter Table, and it was the
most beautiful thing. The beams were sparkling off of
my new blue, Bunny glasses and I so wanted to capture that
feel for you. The table setting came first, and it’s the first of
these I have shown you in a while.
I knew I wanted simplicity. A khaki tablecloth, my Pier1
white, wood chargers, blue scalloped plates and simple white plates…
I found these darling Bunny glasses at Marshall’s.
I broke the promise to myself of “no new dishes” twice that day.
😀
It was the same day I purchased this cute, little blue knobby bowl
I used for my Lettuce in a Farmhouse Bowl.
Oh well, some promises are meant to be broken right? 🙂
Especially when it comes to irresistible blue bunny glasses.
I made napkin “rings” using sheets of vintage
book pages. I love the simplicity and the look of the old
paper against the crisp, white napkin.
I wanted the centerpiece to be showy and full, but part of
the tablescape. All white branchy stems and tulips in a
white metal pitcher was the perfect touch.
Finally, these cute ceramic bunnies from Target made the
perfect topper for each place setting.
A tiny speckled blue egg nestled in moss added some color.
The table inspired the rest of the Breakfast Room area and
Kitchen. I wanted to carry the same blue and white palette
throughout the space.
Remember the Easy Two-Step Wreath I shared a few weeks
ago? I thought it would be lovely surrounding Cleetus.
He seems quite content doesn’t he?
😀
Opposite of the black chest where Cleetus resides…
…is my little blue chest.
I added a chalkboard, a glass jar of eggs and more white tulips…
Also, there’s a cute yellow, Bunny plate and new lamp.
I added some ceramic speckled eggs on a bed of moss and
more vintage book pages.
The tulips are faux, but I think they look amazingly real.
Now, let’s head into the kitchen.
As you can see – white blooms are the theme throughout.
Nothing says “farmhouse” like flowers in white pitchers.
Over at the farmhouse sink….
I added a basic swag of boxwood. This is a working kitchen
so I like to keep this space as clear as I can.
A handful of daffodils from our yard fills the
An ironstone soup tureen gets dressed with a pink azalea.
Remember I shared my new Farmhouse Bowl with
Spring Lettuce which sits on the other side of our sink.
On the island I kept it simple…
Yep, more white flowers.
I adore this cute little couple watching over me while I cook. 🙂
Across from the farmhouse sink is my prep counter…
This galvanized tray holds a cute, Spring Vignette…
My little cabinet niche features a white, Bunny Tureen on top…
… and I filled my blue and white, vintage Cow Pitcher with
another Spring lettuce.
So that’s it.
My Spring Kitchen and Breakfast Room Tour.
I don’t live in an actual Farmhouse. In fact, our kitchen may
be as close as I ever come to a real Farmhouse. But, I love
surrounding myself with all the elements of Farmhouse-style.
Especially during the Spring.
I hope you enjoyed this tour of our Farmhouse Kitchen
and Breakfast Room.
Wishing you and yours a joyous and blessed Easter.
xxoo, Barb

I loved the tour of your spring kitchen. Winters in Maine are SOOO long and the flowers pick up your spirits–even the faux ones! I envy you all the counter space–even if uncluttered, I don’t have that kind of space! You and I share a love of blue and white dishes! I hope everyone in your life appreciates your talent and creativity!
