We made it.
Day Five.
Five Days of Fabulous Fall.
Two Mantels.
A Buffet.
A Side Chest.
And a formal Dining Room Table.
Five Days. Five Fall Projects.
Today… I am showing you my formal Dining Room Table.
Now you’re first thought when you hear me say “formal” Dining Room table may be crystal and china and lots of froo-froo.
In year’s past, that is indeed how I have set our formal table.
But this year, I wanted a look that was more natural… and as you have heard me say dozens of times…“woodsy.”
I am not saying that “Mr. Buck” above our fireplace does not warrant crystal and china and froo–froo….
… but I felt he would be more comfortable around cabbages and mums and rhubarb and grapevine…
I did sneak in a little “glamour,” in the form of a cherished Pink and White Staffordshire Soup Tureen.
This beautiful piece has proven to be ever so versatile throughout the Seasons.
I also thought “Mr. Buck” would approve of some other “woodsy” (there’s that word again!) friends.
A pair of very friendly pheasants.
So while this vignette may be located in our formal Dining Room…
The feel is casual and comfortable.
A burlap runner, simple candles…and small pumpkins and gourds.
And speaking of mini pumpkins…
