There is great satisfaction in a completed project.
And trust me, I don’t often get to feel that feeling of satisfaction too often
if you saw the unfinished projects around The Everyday Home. But, let’s
not go there shall we? 🙂 I think one of the reason’s why I love flipping
houses – I am forced to complete the project. No completion, no pay. LOL
And the pay is a good incentive. Last week, I shared one of the easier
projects me and The Hubbs started. Here it is in its completed form.
How to Create an All White Accent Wall
When we purchased this home, I knew I wanted to go in a different design
style than I had in the past. You can see some of our past flips HERE.
I wanted a more urban modern look versus a farmhouse style. Grays
and whites with touches of blue and silver. I especially wanted a stand-out
wall that said “look at me” as soon as you walked into the door. Some
would call that an accent wall. LOL Here is where we started, as a reminder…
Not very pretty huh? And here is the “during” process…
You can read more about that HERE.
So, after we added all of the strips, we caulked (and caulked and caulked)
and primed and painted with a semi-gloss white paint. I am so in love with
this accent wall and I am seriously thinking of applying this to my foyer walls.
I kept the decorations to a minimal. A circular, silver mirror and two
orchids in blue pots. Notice, we also painted the fireplace surround
the same white.
The color of the pots is the same color as the accent chairs in the room.
I love that both the mirror and the orchids do not distract from the wall
treatment.
Finally, I decided to hang window treatments but nothing too heavy,
or again, distracting. Chunky silver rods with a single panel hung on
the outside of the window. It also creates the perfect balance. I think
double panels at each window would have looked heavy.
And doesn’t the all white accent wall look fabulous with the
SW Repose Gray walls? LOOOVE!
I will be sharing the complete house tour later this week. And
who knows, you may be seeing this same Board and Batten look in
The Everyday Home in the next few weeks, as well. 🙂
Thanks for letting me share my All White Accent Wall with you!

I got several ideas from this post. I love the white orchids. I have white walls and ceiling and a grayish sofa and love seat. I’ve been trying to use accents among five different wood stains. I’m going to show my husband your pictures. His favorite color is blue, so I think I can do a variation of your room. Thanks for the inspiration!
