Twine Ball. Ball of Twine. Twine.
I love saying “twine.” Especially with a heavy southern accent so it sounds more like a two-syllable word. 🙂 So, it sounds more like “tah-wine.” That is your weekly lesson on southern-speak. I saw this cute, little ball of “tah-wine” and of course my mind went right to pumpkins. What? You don’t think of pumpkins when you see a cute, ball of twine? Well, it may now. Here is how I made an easy DIY Twine Pumpkin. You may want to make more than one. They are that cute!
10-Minute DIY Twine Pumpkin
…………………………………………………
I keep saying I am not making any more Fall crafts or starting any more Fall projects. But, today I started and completed TWO new projects. :-O But, the best part is that they were both 10-Minute Projects. Don’t you just love that? If you’re like me, that is about all I can handle right now.
I picked up this ball of jute twine at the craft store. It’s not one of the smaller balls, but about 5″ across. I assembled the few components of this project…
A dried pumpkin stem saved from last year’s pumpkins; some bits of moss; a book page fall leaf I had cut out for another project I never completed (LOL), and some orange raffia.
To start, I used some newspaper to stuff inside the center opening of the ball of twine. I didn’t even use a glue gun. If you wanted to keep this project for next year, I would suggest gluing all of the components in place. Also, in place of the dried pumpkin stem, you could use a piece of twig.
Next, I added the stem. Just stuck that baby right in there. I wanted some texture, and also needed a way to fill in around the stem. Easy…
Bits of reindeer moss took care of both those jobs.
You could choose to not add any raffia, I just thought a pop of color was needed.
My fave feature is by far, the vintage book page leaf.
That’s it!!! I said it was a 10-minute project but I did fix myself some iced tea in between so that may even be stretching it a bit. LOL
I added this little beauty to my front porch. Well, it stayed there about an hour before I brought it in as part of Hurricane prepping. I stacked it onto a white casper pumpkin and isn’t it precious? 🙂
You could make smaller versions of these and use them as place cards on your table. Or make several in varying sizes and place them in a dough bowl or on a farmhouse platter.
I did see other balls of twine that were more rust and orange in color, but honestly I liked the look of the natural twine best. I paid $3.99 for this size, and used a 40% off coupon.
I am tickled with this project and hope you are able to make one, too.
Thanks for letting me share my 10-Minute DIY Twine Pumpkin with you.
