I am on the fence about the paint, too. I see some of it I really like and other pieces- not so much. I have done several pieces and the jury is STILL out with me. I am feeling like a triangle in a trapezoid world here…not quite fitting in- xo Diana

Hi Barb, I found your blog through my Google Alert. Thanks so much for using my paint and I’m sorry you were a bit underwhelmed by it! I hope you’ll persevere as you obviously have some great experience with your training in Europe.
Anyway I thought I’d give you a few pointer to help you with the paint.
Firstly I usually wax then sand, rather than wax after sanding. However, one of the features of my paint is that it can be used in lots of different ways….thick and impasto, thin and watered down to make a wash or very smoothly, or distressed ..the list goes on! Anyway, please get back to me if you want some more help.
By the way the team at Haven were all users of the paint and some were my retailers – all independent shops which is part of my ethos. We want to keep it real!

Go with your gut and what you learned in Europe.

Hi Barb! I’m like you, I don’t care for the not quite painted look. I haven’t used it yet because when I paint something I do like it to look solid. Some folks really like the distressed look, I’m just not a fan of that look. I love your hutch and like others have said, I think you hutch painted white with blue insides would look gorgeous.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia 🙂

Colonial Williamsburg {a step back in time}
Barb, what a wonderful trip, that palace I unbelievable and the gardens amazing. I have several family members that go there year after year for vacation and they never tire of what it has to offer. They are also huge history buffs!

Looks like a lot of fun, Barb! I’ve never toured there, just visited. I would love to go if I could get my homebody family away from the beach!

Barb I love the picture of you and your honey, great picture of both of you. Oh how I want to go back, you did a fabulous job showing us Williamsburg. The Rockefeller kitchen cupboards reminded me of my color in the kitchen, and oh how I want that sink and stove. I am a throw back of the 1930s I guess. Loved my guided tour with you,
