“Easy and Budget-Friendly Bridal Shower Ideas”
I hit the jackpot.
The crafting jackpot that is.
Imagine someone calling you and saying they would PAY you
to not only shop at Michaels but they would also
give you a gift card to buy your supplies.
Imagine that!
And then…imagine they asked you to take part in a
nationwide event this Sunday at Michaels,
sharing your craft with others who came in for a Pinterest event.
Can you imagine that?
Well…it happened?
Woo to the Hoo.
After walking thru Michaels…one of my favorite past times I might add…
I fell in love with an adorable line of chalkboard products
called Recollections.
From labels to banners to mini-clipboards to cute signs and tags.
The colors are bright and happy and are a burst of Spring.
And I immediately thought….Bridal Shower.
These products are so versatile, they would be perfect for a
Baby Shower, a Wedding or any event.
Honestly, I could have picked one of everything from this line –
but you know that little thing called a budget?
(drats!)
I started out with the large chalkboard pennant banner pad.
It’s literally a pad of pennant-shaped chalkboard panels.
Fab.U.Lous!
Just string them together with baker’s twine (provided) or jute
or ribbon. I free-handed the names and dates above, but you
could use a stencil or scrapbook letters, too.
=================================================
Speaking of banners… check out this super cute cupcake banner.
Everything is included in this package. There are little chalkboard
pennants and colorful filler pennants too, that you can use as spacers.
I used some striped straws for the banner stands.
===============================================
What I really had a ball with was creating different glasses.
This same idea could be used for a picnic or cookout by simply
changing the colors.
I used large Mason Jars, and added stick-on chalkboard labels.
I chose a coordinating scrapbook paper, used the screw-on top for a
template, and cut out circles.
A hole punch allows you to insert a colorful striped straw.
Another pink and white houndstooth paper decorated the outer
edge of the top.
You could keep a chalkboard pen on the table, and allow guest to
write their names on the front of their glasses.
==============================================
Here’s another idea… instead of having bottles of wine on the table…
Pre-fill mini jam jars with wine, then mark them with more of
the stick-on chalkboard labels. The white wine jars could be placed
in a pretty galvanized bucket of ice to keep them cool.
I used more of the pink and white houndstooth paper for the tops.
These could also be filled with punch or lemonade…or how sweet would
these be filled with milk for a Cookies and Milk child’s birthday party.
Finally, I used more of the scrapbook paper and little scrapbook
stickers to decorate mini bottles of water.
===============================================
I always love to have little take home bags of treats…
these organza drawstring bags I found in the bridal section were perfect.
They were filled with chocolate candies that coordinated with the colors.
I used some more of the mini chalkboard pennants to add a
cute little heart design.
==========================================
I am slowly teaching myself the art of decorating cupcakes and cakes,
but this is supposed to be “easy” ideas.
These beautiful, candy butterflies make even store-bought
cupcakes look professional. I love these!
===========================================
Included in the Recollections line are mini chalkboard clipboards.
These would be great to greet guests, to mark the “Gifts” Table, even as
Table Number Markers. Soooo many ideas.
=============================================
You will see that I used the scrapbook paper in several ways.
Here’s an inexpensive idea. Instead of napkin rings, cut strips of
decorative paper and wrap around rolled silverware.
Place the rolls in terra-cotta pots (decorated with more paper strips)…
These cute clip-on chalkboard signs are perfect for this.
Next week, I will share some easy and fun food ideas which are perfect
for a Bridal or Baby Shower.
But until then…
