Comment on Inexpensive Wall Treatment by Ginger Rushing.
I would love to know the paint color you used on the kitchen wall above the board & batten wall. I am remodeling a small Towhnouse as a guest house and I have been struggling with the paint colors. I am using some bead board features and since I saw how yo did this feature wall I think I’ll incorporate it into the sunroom wall paired with a beaded ceiling. I would really appreciate it if you could tell me that paint color, Im using all my paint budget buying the wrong paints!

10 Ways to Add Shiplap to Your Farmhouse Bathroom
I prefer using shiplap or bead board on all walls that are not covered in something else, like tile for showers, etc. I do like using it either 1/2 way up or even 3/4 to break up larger spaces. My personal belief is that when we only use it on an accent wall in smaller spaces, it just looks like an accent and not an authentic element of the room. For instance, you might find shiplap only on an exterior wall of an interior space but not necessarily on the interioir wall (or it could have been on all the walls. In that case, shiplap could look authentic only one 1 or 2 walls. We just finished a very small bathroom using bead board 3/4 up with a nice trim treatment on top that can be used as a ledge, all painted white then a lovely blue-green on top and the ceiling. This was a great way to help cover up some damaged drywall from years of wall paper, over wall paper, etc. without refinishing dry wall which is such a yucky job and mess.

Thanks for the reply and those color selections. Im going to check them out this week-end. I normally use (last 3 houses) an old SW color called Thatched Straw and do as you suggest, have them cut it back for rooms with no or little natural light, usually works out great. In this house however I am trying to go less gold and more neutral tan & Cream with blue accents and always a little red for good measure. This house already has fairly new tile that is a take on mexican tile so I’m working with it. I have painted all the stained woodwork Westhighland White from SW. I do love BM paint and colors as well. Thanks for your advice.

Beautiful house and furnishings. So fun to see we share so many things, plates and antiques….It looks like you have used that wonderful color on your walls that I saw on your flip with the board & batten…I would love to know what that is before I buy another can of the wrong pain color! Enjoyed your tour and I’ll be back, cant take it all in at once.
