This past weekend, I have put a few finishing touches
on my Easter decor, to include a fun and easy DIY
EASTER GARLAND.
I am slowly trying to get things started on
my Spring decorating and Easter Sunday dinner.
Some of projects I have planned will most likely not
get completed, but I knew there was one which I just
had to make.
I have to give full credit to
Modern Parents Messy Kids for her great project idea.
It inspired me to make my own and of course,
add an “everyday home” touch, as well.
I switched mine up by mixing the colors.
I purchased a clearance package of stick-on lettering
for $1.99 at Michael’s. I already had the ribbon in
my stash.
I simply printed out the perfect-sized egg, chick
and bunny shapes, then traced the shapes onto
the paint chips.
My Grandloves love it!
I love how it adds a fun touch of Easter to the
Breakfast Room Hutch.
Some grocery store tulips were planted in a white
pitcher, and I added just a few sprigs of silk
daffodils, too.
I’ll transplant tulip bulbs to the garden after Easter.
The tulip-filled pitcher was nestled in a wicker basket,
along with some of my blue and white plates,
and a few extra yellow Bordallo plates
with cute bunnies.
On the other side of the basket, I added another black and
white Toile plate with a lamb, and another
Bordallo Bunny plate.
A dear friend of mine sent me this precious
bird’s nest from etsy. I love it.
I added some pastel speckled eggs to a cloche on
a small cake stand. The pastel colors go with the
colors of the garland.
My little, white Target birds have gathered here, as well.
I love that this is a bit out the box for me.
I think having grandbabies in the house makes
you look at design with a more whimsical eye.
Cole’s school is having an Easter Egg Hunt this Thursday,
and the teacher asked that we help decorate their
baskets. I have a few ideas in mind, but while I was
cutting out paint chips for the garland, I made three
extra bunnies the kid’s baskets.
More of scrapbook lettering spells out their names.
I’m actually going to redo Devin’s so it says “Roo.”
And wouldn’t smaller versions of these make cute
placecards for each tablesetting?
I am going to use the egg shapes on my dessert
and beverage buffets to mark the different dishes.
How would you use these paint chip shapes?
I’d love to hear your ideas. 🙂
If you liked this idea, I would LOVE for you
to PIN THIS IMAGE to your favorite
Pinterest Boards.
For even more Spring and Summer Ideas,
take a look at these while you’re here…
Thank you for spending a few minutes
of your day here with me.

Your hutch looks beautiful and Springy Barb. My 16 year-old daughter just had heart surgery last Friday so I know what you’re going through. It’s very scary when you hear something like that about your child. Stay positive! I will pray for healing for your son.

Okay, I just love, love this project. And your sponsor Home Depot was very generous …
And your comment on my comment over at Kari’s Thistle blog cracked me up! And Kari will be calling me tomorrow to yell at me for taking over her comments thread …
Though, Kari doesn’t yell. It’ll sound sweet as pie with her Southern accent …

Love your garland! I did one this year using cookie cutters for my stencils; cross, egg, flower, rabbit. Also did one and made carrots out of triangles. Now making one for the 4th of July; red, white and blue triangle pennants. Hanging them over my hutch, fireplace and entry mirror. So much fun. My granddaughter helps me string them.
