You’re probably wondering by now if I ever prepare my
desserts in any other pan.
The answer is: not if I can help it. 🙂
The result of dishes cooked in this pan results in
a perfectly cooked center and a slightly, crispy edge.
mmmm…..
Here in the South…it ain’t dessert without pecans.
Macadamias are good, too!
This is easy so far right? Just mix and pour
and sprinkle! 🙂
What is this? I could spend all night talking about
the pleasures of licking a bowl clean.
But – back to the dish….
Simply bake the blueberry bread until it passes
the “clean test.”
I use the oven setting as recommended on
the box. While its baking – you can make the “gravy” –
known in other parts of the country as “sauce.”
I used a 2:1 ratio of whipped topping and sour cream.
The sour cream creates a perfect tangy sensation that
combines harmoniously with the orange flavor.
I used about 1 cup topping and 1/2 cup sour cream.
I also used orange juice. This is about 4 tablespoons.
I have shared this baking secret before, but I love to add
Liquid Coffee Creamers to baked goods and sauces to add
an easy punch of flavor.
Add the juice, then just enough of the creamer to get
the consistency desired.
Can you smell it?
When I was a little girl, my siblings and I used to fight
over the corner of breads and cornbreads that
Mama cooked. The corner gives you much more
crispy edge.
To plate – I start with a bed of the sauce. As little or
as much as you want….
We had these portraits made the day before my
sweet baby left to go back home.
I just picked them up tonight.
You would have been very proud of me – I did
not shed a tear.
But I did an awful lot of smiling – full of
happy memories.
May Your Life be Filled with
Sweet Memories….

Oh Barb, the blueberry cake looks so good and I love the sauce with it. Now you need to include some of these things in your cookbook too. However the sweetest thing I have ever seen are the pics of Cole, my heart just melted when I saw the picture of you two together. Just simply precious. He is such a love, and I know he loves his grammy soooooooo much. Hugs, Marty

Blueberry cake looks good — whenever we use a mix it’s always Betty Crocker! And like, you, here on the prairie nuts are always pecans!

I just love it when people cook so casually. Throw in this, change it to something else. The sign of a true cook.
View CommentBy the way I had a twinge of emotion when you said you didn’t cry when the little guy went home. And I’m not even a grandma. How cute is he!

Hi Guys! I guess I didn’t say it right. I cried for weeks when he left – LOL. But I am at peace now and he is home and he is happy. There is a blog I follow (and my apologies for not knowing exactly which one it is at this time) that has a header sub-title I absolutely love. It says something like…“do not cry because the journey has ended; smile because it happened!” That’s how I felt when I opened that package of pictures and saw them. Does that make sense? 🙂
View CommentNOW I am crying…..Thanks guys! 😀

Barb, I know this is not a no carb dessert but Oh Yum!!! I want some. As always you make the best recipes. Now about these pictures of Cole, I must admit it does bring a tear to my eye. What an absolute little doll and the one of you and he hugging, oh that is just priceless. What a beautiful little boy and Grammy is not too bad herself, a great picture with sweet memories.
