Welcome to
Wild About Mother Nature #3
What wonderful projects are in store for us this month?
I can’t wait to see.
This month, I am going to share some more pictures
from our Christmas trip to England.
Even though it was cold and rainy…
(what? cold and rainy in England?) 🙂
… I was still amazed at how green everything was.
I want to share some of the pics I took when we were
staying in London. I could have spent a whole day taking
pics of nothing but doorways and window boxes.
I hope you do not mind being transported back
to Christmas in England – 2011. 🙂
I was amazed to see all of the cyclamen. Reds, pinks
and whites. I had no clue cyclamen could withstand
the colder weather.
I love how the cyclamen was tucked within the
ivy and evergreens to add punches of color.
Look how the white cyclamen, above, added a touch
of Winter beauty.
When you do not have any garden space in London,
you improvise. Almost every fence and window was
covered in live greenery.
Some of the shots were taken at night after dinner. Most were
lit with spot lights or up lights.
Bill soon realized it was faster for us to take a taxi rather
than walk – because I kept stopping to take pics. 🙂
I just couldn’t help myself. Such eye candy, street after street.
Now are you seeing why I couldn’t walk two steps without
wanting to stop and take a pic?
Ivy, ivy, ivy. Love!
sigh!
These pics make me remember how much I
love England and living in Europe.
These next pics will make you simply swoon!
Have you EVER seen such beautiful window boxes????
I WILL have my boxes trained with ivy like this!
These next few pics are from the entrance of our motel,
The Milennium.
Beautiful evergreens flanked the front door.
On each side of the wrought iron fence, boxes of ivy were
decorated with white lights, cyclamen and sparkly
white branches. It was quite the sight.
Thank you for letting me share my travel pictures with you.
Don’t forget, Wild About Mother Nature is held
the last Tuesday of the month.
Next month, it will be a special edition featuring
Porches, Patios and Decks.
I know everyone in Bloggyville will have some beautiful
projects to welcome in Summer, and I am excited for
you to share them here.
There will be a wonderful give-away, as well.
Look for the upcoming post!

Barb this is such a treat to see England and the beautiful plantings for winter. I had to grin since Cyclamen is considered our winter flower here in California, you probably remember the white cyclamen I had in my planter by the porch. It is still there since September. Thanks for sharing your ode to Mother Nature from Jolly old England, xo Kathysue

thank you so much for taking me on the trip to England! I loved every single picture. I am amazed at how they use ivy. It seems I only see it climbing trees, out of control. I would love to do a box with the “rope” of ivy, too. And all I have to do is go pull some off my trees:)

Gorgeous pictures, Barb! Thanks for hosting. I’ll have my link up in the morning. Is it actually warm enough in England at that time of year that those plants can survive?
