Rarely do I find anything worth bragging
about at our local GW.
In fact, other Bloggers give me
Goodwill Hunting Envy.
But last week, a quick run-through
resulted in two very good finds.
I found two of these wicker carriers
marked at $4.99 ea.
Snag!
I decided to add some Mother Earth
bling to one of them.
I am thinking I will place it in
my Guest Bath with Hand Soap
and Hand Lotion.
(I have plans for marking the bottles.)
So I broke out one of my new fave
crafting items….
Jute Twine.
Can I just tell you how happy this little ball of
jute goodness makes me feel?
I mean, for about two bucks, you
can create all sorts of “loverliness.”
I also snagged a starfish.
Yep, I am on a starfish kick, huh?
I wanted to take away some of the
“wicker color” of the basket, so a quick
coat of ASCP Old White did the trick.
Very subtle, but it has more of a driftwood look.
I made a loopy type bow with the jute
then simply glued on a starfish.
Nothing special.
Just some ASCP. Loopy jute.
– and a Starfish.
Don’t you just love it when a Thrifty Find
makes your heart sing?
I have one more basket carrier.
What do you think I should use it for?
What would you do with it?
I’d love to hear your comments and suggestions.

Very pretty Barb and great idea using it for hand soap and lotion! You could always use the other in your kitchen for oil and vinegar.

I really like you refurbished your basket. I can find good deals at Goodwill, but then I can’t fix them up like you did. It looks great.

Love this. Where are you finding the star fish?

I love what you did with the basket, Barb! Anything with the word “loopy” in the description must be good! : )

Love it! I so rarely find anything at a GW store that I almost don’t bother going anymore. This turned out beautifully!

Love the basket…reminds me of my wasp catcher! I think pretty bath salts would be great in the bottles..liked that you toned down the wicker with the paint….Great find!

Great find, Barb. I suffer from GW Envy too. 😉 The basket looks so much better with the coat of paint added to it. And of course you can’t go wrong with a starfish and some twine. Love it!
