I wanted to show you a small project of
“What I’m Up To….”
I was going to call this post
“I Need to Get Off My Butt and Finish This Project”
– but it just didn’t have the same ring to it.
I am painting my faux brick kitchen backsplash blue.
Bird Song Blue, to be exact.
Remember – it was all white.
Crisp, clean, white. Just like my cabinets.
But, to me personally – just a tad too white.
My kitchen needed some umph! – to go along with the
same kind of “Umph!” I feel my Breakfast Room has.!
Just a touch of color.
I also purchased these beautiful wood corbels at Lowes.
I am going to paint them crisp, clean white then
attach them under my upper cabs.
Just for a little more “Umph!”
I like Umph! Umph is good when you have too
much “crisp, clean white.” 🙂
I actually have a full, first coat along this section,
but I was too lazy on this to hunt down my keys,
put on shoes, walk out to the van and get my camera.
So you get to enjoy the pics I took after I painted a
test strip.
Bird Song Blue.
It sounds so chipper and pretty and Summery.
It makes me smile.
It’s also the color I am having my newly painted
Living Room re-painted.
(I will reveal that room later and call that post “Couldn’t Make Up My Mind, Monday”)
And speaking of smiling – remember the cute little
shop I showcased a while back called
Sweet Potato Vintage?
They have this BEAUTIFUL Frenchy bed on sale.
I would love it for my guest room.
Ain’t she a beauty?
Then I would have to post something like
“I Injured Myself Hauling This Baby Home” Saturday.
I said I would “think about it.”
I’m thinking, thinking, thinking I really want it.
🙂
Stay tuned.
xxoo, barb

i like to blue in the back splash. It picks up the blue from the other room. Love the bed. I think I heard it calling your name.

Oooh, I’m looking forward to seeing that, Barb. I’m on the lookout for some corbels, too. I’m not sure if I want metal or wood though, so unless I see some I fall in love with, I’ll look and wait. That bed is gorgeous. Forget the guest room, I’d want it in my room!

Oh Barb, I love your pretty blue, it is going to be just the right color for your kitchen and the corbels are fabulous. Great idea. That headboard really is stunning. You know me and bedrooms all of a sudden, I am on a roll. Hugs, Marty

Barb, your Birdsong blue wall is really pretty. Where did you get your corbels? I keep thinking I’ll use some in my kitchen cabinets or on the island.
