Comment on Ten Ways to Add Farmhouse Style to Your Suburban Home by Sandi Magle.
I know this an old post, but it should be resurrected once a month—for its timeless style. Clearly you have a handle on Farm Style and good clean, nonsensical living! We tested an IKEA butcher block counter on our Island and will be installing everywhere, when we replace our cabinets. So far we have oiled it three times…and it has a few stains, but like you stated, it only enhances the look of the cabinet. Not too mention cutting down on the noise and breakage, as I am a klutz.
Thanks for the wonderful post, and I would considering doing this one now and again, and again, and again.

Before and After Fixer Upper
Amazing transformation. All ready for the new owners, I’m sure you will be ready to tackle another one. We are updating our house after 20 years of being busy with careers and life. As retirees it goes slower than I would want to, but the satisfaction of doing it yourself is supreme. Great job, Sandi
