It’s time for Sunday Favorites, again. This fun Bloggy Party, sponsored by
Chari at Happy to Design.
I thought I would share a little Fall inspiration with you, the transformation of my not-so-charming front porch.
We have just gone through Hurricane Irene, and I know one thing….I am soooo over Summer. LOL
I am ready for some cooler weather….pumpkins, pansies, corn and sweaters.
Here’s to celebrating Fall….my favorite time of the year!
I hope you enjoy this Re-Post….. Barb
Welcome to Metamorphosis Monday, hosted by our wonderful friend, Susan at
Please make sure you stop by Susan’s beautiful blog for more “Before and After” transformations.
For this week’s Met Monday – we are going to head out to the Front Porch….
I am a little behind schedule on my Fall decorating, but we woke up this morning and made the decision to get our Front Porch ready for Fall.
We cleared everything and gave it a good cleaning…washing away the Summer dust and cobwebs.
Here is the Summer “before” pics…
Bill and I have enjoyed lots of Summer evenings out here. We sat by the lamp light at night and read…at least until the mosquitoes drove me in. 🙂
… a side table covered in a Summery chintz…
…comfy rockers….
…. cushiony pillows….
But with the changing of the Seasons, the Sages and Reds
were changed over to…
Gold and Orange…
The cedar trees we had planted over the Summer were replaced with faux boxwood topiaries, which will be easier to care for.
The white rockers were replaced with brown rattan chairs and ottomans.
Quilted throws are tossed on the back of the chairs for cooler evenings.
Side planters, running over with ivy, get some Fall touches with pansies, pumpkins, and a Seasonal rake.
Bill and I will enjoy morning coffee and after-work drinks in the coming weeks…
Our new red door perfectly frames my Fall wreath…
Stop by and see us….I have fresh loaves of Pumpkin Bread and homemade Apple-Pecan Butter.
Happy Fall Y’all….Barb

Your front porch is charming and welcoming. I love my front porch too but our heat and humidity has kept us inside. Good to hear that Irene passed you with no injury and you obviously haven’t lost power. Enjoy your Sunday.

Hi Barb…
My friend, I have been thinking about you with Irene on the warpath. Sending prayers your way! I hope that all is well at your place, Darlin’!
Well dear friend, I have to tell you that your front porch is one of the very MOST INVITING and GORGEOUS…that I’ve ever seen! Sure wished that you could have heard all of my ooohs and aaahs as I was taking the tour! I remember you posting your fabulous porch on RMS! Hehe! Anyway, the summer porch was perfect in every way and I certainly can imagine how wonderful it would be to spend time there! Inspite of the mosquitos! Hehe! Ohhh my goodness…I just couldn’t believe the transformation…from summer to autumn! Girl, you did it up AWESOME!!! You changed everything…right down to the furniture! Hehe! I love it! I think I need some of your energy, sweet friend! I love your new topiaries and the big ol’ burlap ribbon was like the icing on the cake! Very pretty!!! Love all the autumn gold and rusts! Ohhh…after looking at your autumn porch with all of those pretty pumpkins…I can hardly wait for autumn to get here! I just had my honey carry down all of my autumn boxes and hope to get started on my autumn decor soon! It really is my favorite season and favorite season to decorate for!
Thank you so much for joining in with the fun of Sunday Favorites again this week! It was such a treat having you, my friend! Hope my note is finding you and your sweet family all doing well…especially after Irene!
Love ya,

Oh I am so over summer also. It was 112 again today. We have been over 110 for the entire month of August. An all time record. So no more records. Your porch is always beautiful. I love to see what you’re up to. I love the new header pic too. Love ya, Hugs, Marty
