How to Make Snowballs by The Everyday Home

“This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group™

and Cottonelle, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #CottonelleHoliday  http://cmp.ly/3/8vNxcO.”

Several years ago, at a beautiful old home called Turkey Hill…

a very well-known hostess who is known for her entertaining

skills and repeatedly saying “It’s a Good Thing” – did a very bad thing.

Her goose was perfectly prepared, her apple cider had been hand-pressed

with heirloom apples she had cultivated and harvested herself,

French linens had been ironed with lavender water prepared with a

French variety of lavender imported from, well…France.

Beeswax candles cast a soft and welcoming glow throughout

her home.  The art of perfection had been, well… perfected.

The guests were having a fabulous time. Cocktails were flowing

and gourmet canapes on polished silver trays made their way

around the room.  It was a magazine-worthy party – until….

– the following words were heard echoed down the hall of

Turkey Hill…

“Um, Martha – you’re out of toilet paper.”

{insert the screeching sound of Bing Crosby’s White Christmas}

To this day, the Hostess with the Mostess has never outlived

that horrific evening.

Don’t be Marthafied this Christmas and New Years.

Make sure you head to Target and stock up on lots of

Cottonelle Triple Rolls.  And get a 12-pack while you’re at it.

(Martha wishes she had not been so miserly and only bought the 4-pack)

So what do Cottonelle and Snowballs have in common?

I know, I know.  You’re probably thinking this may be

one of the strangest crafts I’ve ever made, huh? Laughing

How to Make Snowball Ornaments

I am happy to be participating in this super fun event with

14 other creative Bloggers.  I will post the entire

schedule of all Bloggers at the end.  You will LOVE these

Craft Projects everyone is sharing.

I have had this craft on the creative brain for quite some time.

You know…one of those projects that kinda nags at you

until you do it.  Laughing

How to Make Snowballs by The Everyday Home

I have wanted to create Snowballs using toilet paper decoupaged

onto inexpensive plastic Dollar Store ornaments.

I had no clue if it would work… but when you are writing a

post for Cottonelle,  you figure it’s just as good of time as any

to see if you are a crafting genius or you’ve got nothing but

toilet paper between your ears. Laughing

How to Make Snowballs by The Everyday Home

I started by tearing toilet paper into 1-2″ rough pieces.

Then using Modge Podge, I worked in small areas by

coating the ornament with MP,  then pressing the bits of

tissue into the decoupage medium.  I would follow up by

brushing some MP over the bits of attached paper.

It was a goopy mess.  Laughing

While the ornament was still goopified…

I quickly rolled it into faux snow.  I patted it on and squished it

into the wet decoupaged TP.

Then, I stood back and had my “Oh yes! Who needs Martha!” moment.

I am pretty sure I heard the Snowball Angels singing…

How to Make Snowballs by The Everyday Home

I made four snowballs and placed them on a white pedestal plate.

Surrounded by balsam and mini red and clear ornaments…

they’re downright heavenly.

How to Make Snowballs by The Everyday Home

I am thinking of going out and buying another one

of those Cottonelle Triple-Packs and making

enough snowballs to create a wreath.

Yep…sounds pretty huh? Laughing

(Back off, Martha – it’s MY idea!)

I would love you it if you would pin this project…

Barb, I love your balls! (tee-heee). You come up with some way-out ideas, but that’s you ! Seriously, these are too cute. And hey, If you run out of toilet paper……you always have the balls.

If you ever get stranded on an island with only toilet paper and Mod Podge, you could probably build a raft and float yourself out of there. But be sure to save a square or two for when you need to do your business.

These are seriously cute and creative!

I was so shocked when I saw that your snowballs were crafted with TP. What a great idea! You can use them after Christmas in a winter vignette.

I totally hear Bings White Christmas as I look at these amazing snowballs! I will be picking up some TP when I venture out today and have these whipped up by tomorrow! Oh…and when you click on the “faux snow” it takes you to some mittens so you might want to change that up. I just finished a rag wreath and think these might look amazing on there so I’m excited to get moving! Merry Christmas to all!
