Twas the night before Halloween,

When all thru the house,

Creepy decorations were scattered,

Such as pumpkins, bats and a “mouse.”

The Goblin in residence got an idea for a craft.

She decided to whip it up, even if they thought she was daft.

Mason-Jar Mummy Lanterns would be devishly cute.

And grouped all together, would make a great centerpiece to boot.

While the Ghoul watched Football and howled at the screen,

Modge-Podge splattering had started to convene.

A spidery brush slathered Podge all over the jar.

The Goblin paused … “will this look bizarre?”

With a frightful laugh she ripped up some cloth,

then twisted and wrapped and crissed and crossed.

A thick coat of Podge sealed the cloth to the jar.

then wiggly eyes and a few well-placed scars.

Spiders and Rats and all sorts of creepy things –

Gathered ’round the lanterns – twas an eerie thing.

A family of Mummies all lit up with lights –

It surely made for a frightful sight.

With a swoosh of her Podge and some more torn rags,

The Goblin jumped up and went tearing through her bags.

One more evil deed and then she would be through…

She created a “Mum-pkin”….just for her Roo.

Her eyes how they twinkled – as she crafted two more,

And just in time as familiar voices floated through the door.

Her Baby Ghouls and Goblin stood there with delight,

the “treats” that they were offered was an unexpected sight.

After the babies went home, Grammy Goblin stood still –

The night was upon her – in the air was a chill.

She made mugs of cider and carried one to her Ghoul.

And smiled with a happiness that filled her down to her Soul.

Happy Halloween to All…

and to all a Good Fright!
