Life.
It’s a peanut butter jelly sandwich and all that, isn’t it?
It’s as sweet as a baby’s breath.
As fun as an afternoon of playing in the rain.
As surprising as a popped balloon.
Life.
Then, sometimes it just simply…
Changes.
So, I have decided to take a hiatus from blogging.
Maybe I will be back.
One day.
But, a part of me feels like it is time to move on
and complete some life projects I’ve put off for too long.
The worst part of not blogging is not being able to
interact with you,
my Everyday Friends, and all the other bloggers I have
been so very fortunate to meet and become friends with.
So – I have decided to keep my Facebook page active.
That way I can still share some of my projects.
and stay connected with all of you, too.
Thank you so much to everyone who has
become a regular here at
The Everyday Home.
I will miss hearing from you.
I hope you will follow me on Facebook and say
Hi every now and then.
I send each of you love, blessings and a wish for you to
be healthy and happy. Always.
And don’t forget….

I can imagine how hard it was for you to press the “publish” button for this post. Please know that there are so many of us thinking and praying for you in your illness and in your decision to quit blogging. You definitely have the right attitude in looking at how things could have been worse and trying to be “happy”. Blogging is hard work and you’ve done a tremendous job at it! Enjoy your “free” time and rest up.

I get it, my friend. You need to focus on YOU, and blogging can take that focus away. Just get better, and we’ll still be here.

I, too, have suffered with Hashimoto’s. For years, I tried to convince doctors that there was something wrong. They tried to convince me that it was all in my head. Be thankful that you have a diagnosis. Take it easy and you will gradually feel better. It is a sloooooow process. Be well, my friend!

this would have been a shock if i hadn’t seen your comment to melissa on her FB page yesterday….i think from reading a lot of those comments so many people are burned out from blogging. i’ll be blogging 8 years in december (!) but i’ve lost my spark and desire as well….life DOES go on and i don’t want to look back and see all my time spent in front of a computer when that time could have been spent with precious family and friends.
that being said, i wish you the best and will miss “seeing” you in the blog world…not sure how much longer I will hang in there either.

So sorry you are so ill. Blogs are nice but our health is so much more important. Take care of yourself and we will be here IF you decide to blog again. In the meantime, I’ll check in on Facebook. All the best.

Totally understand what you’re dealing with. I was diagnosed with Hashimotos in 2002. And then two months ago I was diagnosed with Celiac. (Did they do a celiac panel on you? If not, you should request your doc to it, as they quite regularly go hand in hand.) 12 years later I’m still dealing with prescription adjustments. Find an Endo that will treat you, the patient (and your symptoms) and not just treat you until your numbers are “normal”. Thankfully my Endo is willing to treat me and listen to me and not just go by the lab numbers. She’s the one that recommended the celiac panel. Also have them test your Vitamin D. (I have been deficient for over a year.) I would highly recommend visiting Mary Shomon’s web page: http://thyroid.about.com/ and reading her books. They have help me a lot. There is no quick fix, no quick turnaround. And even after being on meds, I don’t feel 100% most of the time. But it gets better…with time. Take care of yourself.

I am so sorry you are ill. Several years ago I went thru a very serious illness and it took 3 months and 8 doctors to finally diagnose my problem. My heart goes out to you. You are in my prayers for a speedy recovery. Maybe one day you will come back to us all newly restored. Keep your faith in God he is always with you. Take care and enjoy this beautiful fall weather…..Rebecca

I am so sorry you are having health issues, Barb.Hope you are able to get things in control. I am glad you are keeping your FB going, since I tend to be able to keep up with folks there, better than I do in blogland.
I understand, your decision, completely. After 7.5 years of blogging, I find the mere business of blogging has changed so much, for one thing, and with J’s issues, I seem to have a daily workout. Right now we are focused on getting our home sold, so we can move to a more manageable place that is a better fit for us, especially for J. All that keeps my blogging on the back burner for sure!
I have lots of folks who have been with me since the beginning. I decided early on to keep BPM personal and not turn it into a business So glad I made that decision. I have had plenty of opportunity to become a business and actually still get offers on a daily basis. I know how difficult it is to produce, without being a business and know I don’t have the stamina for becoming a pro blogger. Nevertheless whether a business type blog or not, it is work!
Still hoping to continue for awhile. At my age, I need to stay as active as possible and the creative outlet is good for me.
Will keep an eye out for news from you, over at FB!
