Every Spring, I promise myself that its the year I am going to go all white with my Master Bedroom bedding.
I have always adored the look, and the practical side of me feels it would make life easier when it came to laundry day. Toss it all in the washer, some bleach – and presto wham – super, white bedding.
I will never forget our trip to Salzburg, Austria. My son was about 11 yrs old. We had been driving all day through Germany to get to Austria for Christmas Eve. We had made dinner reservations and had planned to attend Christmas Eve church service at the Cathedral located in the town square, where scenes of The Sound of Music had been filmed. Unfortunately, Mother Nature decided to dump a blizzard on us as we were driving from Belgium. We missed our dinner reservations, and just as soon as we checked into our Inn, we had to rush off to church services.
One of the things I remembered most, is being exhausted and frozen to the bone – and falling into bed under the most luscious, European bedding. Fluffy, down-filled, white bedding. It was magical. Sleeping under European linens, in Austria, on Christmas Eve – with the most beautiful snow falling just outside the 350 year old Inn we were staying in.
But, here we are – the end of Summer 2011 soon upon us….and the Garrett abode still does not have any white bedding. Oh well….I guess I will have to talk Bill into another trip to Salzburg. 🙂
Some more eye candy…
Have a Great Weekend….Barb

There is something glorious about white bedding. I went with a mix of white and ivory and love it.

Hi Barb…
Well dear friend…I just had to check out your blog to see if you were back! Yeeehawww!!! Soooo very happy to see that you are, my friend!
I loved this post! I sooo agree, these “all white” beds are simply fabulous! When we were in Switzerland, I too, experienced the same thing you did! Oooh…the fluffy down comforters were just heavenly. The experience inspired me to change out our bed linens. I invested in a fluffy down comforter that is simply divine and have an “all white” bed now! Loving it!!! Living in Colorado…not sure why I waited so long to purchase a down comforter! Hehe!
Well dear friend, I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend! I’m just tickled pink that you left a note for me today!
Warmest summery wishes,
