Homemade Valentine’s Day Wreath { Part 2 }

I love creating crafts with felt, so I’ll show you how to use it to make a fun Valentine’s Day wreath in this blog post. It’s a snap to make this DIY holiday creation for today’s Homemade Valentine’s Day Wreath { Part 2 }.

I hope you saw the construction paper wreath I made using rosettes for our Homemade Valentine’s Day Wreath { Part 1 }.   I know you might think that Katie Rose only uses essential oils, but I do love crafts so I hope you like my wreaths.  There will be one more wreath on Wednesday.

This time I wanted an even easier and shorter project.  I used around 1 ½ yards of felt, but I wish I had more to make the wreath even more full.  You will have to decide how full to make your own.  My wreath form was only a 10 inch one, so you will need to adjust your felt accordingly if you select a different size.

The supplies you will need for this wreath are:

1 ½ Yards of Felt

Foam Wreath Form

Straight Pins

Scissors

I started by cutting out felt circles.  My circles were approximately 4 inches in diameter, but you can tell by the pictures that they weren’t all the same size or perfectly round.  You can keep your wreath monochromatic or you can try different colors like I did.

After cutting your circles out, the next step is to fold them in half.

Fold your circle in half again, making it a quarter of a circle. Then, stick a straight pin into the bottom corner of your folded circle. See the photo below.

Use that pin to place your circle onto the wreath form.

Next, place the felt circles around your wreath in little bunches while spreading out your colors. Finally, fill in all the spaces and fluff out the felt until you like the appearance of each area.  You can tie a ribbon around it to hang it, or use a door hook once you are happy with the appearance.  This one took very little time, and looks bright and cheery on my door!
