Homemade Valentine’s Day Wreath { Part 1 }
Let’s discuss a fun and EASY Homemade Valentine’s Day Wreath made out of two items that you might already have in your home! Today’s wreath is made with cardboard and construction paper. I’ve got a plethora of both in my home. I can’t wait to get creative and make an easy, inexpensive wreath out of rosettes for our Homemade Valentine’s Day Wreath { Part 1 }.

This year, I have seen beautiful rosettes many times, and I wanted to incorporate them into a Homemade Valentine’s Day Wreath { Part 1 }. You guys are used to me only talking about oils, but I’ve got two more wreaths up my sleeve that I’ll be posting over the next few days, so stay tuned!
The supplies you will need for this easy wreath are:
Cardboard
Pencil
I wanted a Valentine’s Day project I could make without going to the store for supplies, so I pulled out an old box and a package of construction paper. First, I cut a heart out of a large box like the one below.
Second, you need to cut out LOTS of construction paper circles. I cut out three sizes, using a bowl, a cup, and bottle as templates. Roll up your sleeves, fire up Netflix, and get comfortable.
The next step is to cut out a spiral. After cutting out the spiral, I snipped off the ends. You can see what this looks like below. Do this for all of the circles.
Now, it’s time to start rolling! I started with the outermost end of the spiral, and rolled until I reached the middle. Roll all of your circles into rosettes.
After I had a lovely rosette, I used the glue gun to secure the outer flap. I squeezed the glue into the small end of the spiral, holding all of the pretty circles in place.
Next, I set the flower down on the cardboard using that glue to keep it upright. I held the middle in place until the glue set, and tested to make sure it wouldn’t unroll. If the middle wasn’t being secured by the glue, I snuck some glue into the spiral to keep it in place.
I chose to place a larger rosette first, and place a few smaller ones around it to form a bunch. Continue to randomly place these bunches around your cardboard heart, until you have covered most of the wreath.
Use the smaller rosettes to fill in any holes. All that is left is to tie a beautiful ribbon around it, hang it up, and enjoy!

That’s really pretty (even elegant.)
My goodness, I have all the supplies I need here. How often does that happen for a cool project I see? Almost never! When I saw the heart you posted I had no idea it was made from construction paper. I love this and I’m going to make it with my girls.
Thanks Katie! I’m so glad I clicked through to your post!
