DIY Snowball Bucket
Even if you don’t have a vinyl cutting machine, you can easily make this DIY Snowball Bucket with your home printer. This Christmas bucket can be used both on your porch or inside your home.
Snowballs are not something you see that often here in the South. In fact, if it wasn’t for faux snowballs – we would have no snowballs at all. 😀 I wanted a cute bucket by our front door that would have soft, white lighting. I had seen some other styles of buckets used in Christmas decor but I do on not own one of those fancy-schmancy vinyl cutters to create the design. No problem, where there is a will….well, you know how the saying goes. Let’s get started….
Just FYI…I am taking part in the Handmade Holidays 2017.
Please make sure you scroll all the way to the end of the post to see everyone who is participating.
Resources You Will Need:
- (1) Galvanized Bucket (I used a 10-qt bucket)
- (1) Sheet of Clear Printable Sticker Paper
- Approx 8-10 Clear Glass Ornament Balls
- (1) Box Mini White Lights
- (1) Package Faux Snow
- Faux Snowballs
- Mini Snowflakes
Step One: Printing the Design:
If you have a home printer, you can download this design and print it out in minutes. You may need to adjust the printed size according to your bucket size. If you don’t have a home printer, put this image on a thumbdrive and take it to your local office supply store.

Step 2: Cut Out the Printable
Cut out the design as close as possible, but you don’t have to be exact.
Step 3: Peel backing off of Printable and Adhere to Bucket
Step 4: Filling the Bucket
I placed two bricks in the bucket to take up space and also to elevate the lights and ornaments I was adding.
I removed the tops from clear glass ornaments and placed them within the lights followed by some faux greenery tucked here and there to help cover the lights still showing around the edges – and also to cover up the extension cord running over the top of the bucket.
Next I added faux snowballs….
…and, finally tucked in some small snowflakes.
And that’s all!
I love how this turned out and now I have so many cool ideas running through my head…
I placed this Snowball Bucket by the front door and it just glows at night. You might even see a matching one appear somewhere inside our home in the weeks to come. 🙂

That turned out so cute! Much much easier to do than trying to hand paint a sign on the side of a slippery bucket. Thanks for the free download!
