I Love a 10-Minute Project!
I love a project where you can zip out to
your garage and run back in and throw
some flowers in it and stand back and congrat
yourself – and then mentally scold yourself for
putting the project off for so long because you could have
enjoyed it sooner.
I love THAT kind of project.
😀
Welcome to another Lowes DIY Days.
Where a group of bloggers walk aimlessly through
Lowes (okay, maybe not aimlessly… maybe some
actually know where they are going)
- looking for an item that can be turned into something
unexpected. Like my
DIY Galvanized Wall Half Bucket

DIY Galvanized Wall Half-Bucket | The Everyday Home
I am so excited to take part in another #LowesDIYDays Challenge,
sponsored by Hometalk.
I always love to see the exciting projects that bloggers
have created with an ordinary product from Lowes.
Speaking of ordinary…
A plain ole’ small galvanized pail… or bucket
is where my project began.
Did you catch my Periscope video of the new ledge
and hooks we installed above our Farmhouse Sink?
No? Then here you go…
{Click —> HERE <—- if Video does not show up above.}
I wanted a cute little bucket to hang from the hook
above my sink, where I could add some dried hydrangea
recently cut from my Mama’s garden.
So, out came my Ryobi Reciprocating Saw and a few
minutes later – presto blammo…
half bucket!

I guess I should have sanded the edges or been more
concerned that it looked a little rough…

Nope. I didn’t.
Because I knew this baby would be hanging from
the cute little hook over my sink.

So, I popped in a little Mason Jar…
{I indicated the Jar so you would not miss it} 😀

… then I added those gorgiferous dried, green hydrangea.

A cute little chalkboard sign says exactly how I feel…

If you’re asking yourself why I didn’t just hang the
whole bucket. I tried. And I just didn’t like the way
it hung all whonky from the wall.

So, for about $2 and about 5 minutes in my garage…
I created a half-bucket exactly how I wanted.
As the sign says…
love.

I admire your determination in finding a “half bucket” that would fit against your wall so well – I can understand how the round bucket would stick out too far. The idea of putting the jar inside for flowers is also a great idea. Love your tenacity! I also appreciate your sharing all these ideas and instructions with your followers. Thanks!
View CommentI really did look. I found a few online but I guess I was too cheap. haha Thanks for your nice words and for stopping by visit The Everyday Home. Have a great rest of your week. ~Barb

View CommentSO smart! I love this idea. I would have NEVER thought of cutting the pain in half. Thanks for the inspiration.
I love watching your scopes. You are so talented.
Haha I love you. My ‘scopes are dorky, but that’s okay its still fun. 🙂 Loved taking part in the #LowesDIYDays Challenge with you. See you next month, too, I hope. xxoo, Barb
View CommentHow clever to cut the little bucket in half! And, I would have never guessed that it would cut that well – you did great! Just might put “reciprocating saw” on my Santa list this year. Have a great week!
View CommentOh I love my reciprocating saw. I use it to cut apart pallets, too. It just cuts right thru those nails lickety-split. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by. ~Barb
View CommentYour ‘half-bucket’ is awesome! Unfortunately, whenever I think I’ve come up with a 10-minute project, it usually turns into 4 hours! Not sure what that says about my ideas… hmmm. But this one of your is great! 😉
View CommentYou’re so right. In my mind it always seems so simple and then I work on it for half the day. 🙂 But thank goodness for my reciprocating saw it really was a 10-minute project. OK, maybe 12 minutes but close. LOL Have a blessed weekend, my friend. xxoo, Barb
