I set up four “Bars” for our Christmas Party, but I have to say this one made me the happiest.
I set up a Christmas Cocoa and Coffee Bar in our Breakfast Room for our party guests to help themselves to cocoa and coffee, and it’s so fun to have around I plan on keeping it up through New Year’s Eve. I didn’t spend a lot of money doing it. The biggest goal was to make this bar self-sufficient so that my guests would have everything they needed at hand. Here is how you can create your own Cocoa and Coffee Bar for Christmas, too.
…………………………………………………………….
When I originally started planning our Christmas party, I knew from the beginning that I wanted to set up a Cocoa and Coffee Bar. I have been to other parties, and it’s always nice to have a great cup of coffee after you have had a few cocktails. The secret to hosting a great party, in my opinion, is convenience for guests. The idea is everything they could need, for their comfort or pleasure, is right at hand. It also presents less of a challenge for the Hostess as she can enjoy her guests and not be in the kitchen at all times.
I tried to think of as many elements as I could which would create not only a convenient Bar, but would check all of the “yummy” boxes, too. To start, I laid out a pretty Sweater-design runner to add a splash of color and an instant “warm and cozy” feel. Next, I created a framed “Baby It’s Cold Outside” Printable. I am sharing this FREE Printable for you to download and use in your decor, as well. (see below)
An inexpensive white IKEA frame was perfect against the chalkboard background design. I already had two hot dispensers on hand, but will provide the affiliate link where you can get your own further below. I used a dispenser for Hot Water for the Cocoa…
… and another dispenser for Coffee.
I didn’t have a third dispenser, so this one was used for Regular coffee, and I made another pot of Decaf and kept it in the coffee maker carafe. Once I had the dispensers in place, I added mugs.
I love these red and white snowflake pattern mugs I found at Marshall’s. I also used these on my Jolly Ole’ Santa Breakfast Room Tablescape. Plain white mugs were added as backups.
You can’t have a Cocoa Bar without Cocoa now can you? Large, glass jars and chalkboard labels worked perfectly for holding my mixes.
To add some height to the Bar, I placed one of the Cocoa Jars on a small cake plate. You could make your own Cocoa Mix, but honestly I used pre-made mixes. Think EASY! Don’t reinvent the wheel. 🙂
I had a standard Chocolate Cocoa Mix…
…and a Mint Chocolate Cocoa Mix.
I had lots of fun deciding on the yummy coffee and cocoa additives I would offer. I purchased some cute bottles and glass containers.
These flip-top bottles were perfect for holding Creme and Liqueurs. I offered Kahlua and Bailey’s. I also added a cute bottle with a small wooden spoon filled with crushed peppermints…
You gotta have marshmallows!!!
Finally, I put out some cookies for dipping…
And that’s just how quick and easy setting up this bar was.
I added a small green jar to hold plastic spoons, a few candles and some greenery and pinecones. Originally, I thought I would take down “Cleetus the Pig” who looks out over the Breakfast Room…
But, once I dressed his wreath with simple Christmas floral picks and silver pinecones, I thought he looked so cute I left him to act as the Host of the Cocoa and Coffee Bar.
Finally, I added a Nutcracker just for a pop of whimsy and color…
I am pretty sure my Guests enjoyed this Bar, but my Grandloves think it’s the best thing they have ever seen. They stayed here with me and Grandpa Sunday night and I let them fix their own Cocoa. Let’s just say there were mugs of cocoa with LOTS of marshmallows. Grammy got out the whipped cream as a topper.
It sure made me happy to see them so happy. Worth all the effort!!! Mr. Nutcracker agrees. 😀
I hope you enjoyed my Cocoa and Coffee Bar for Christmas. Thanks for letting me share it with you! xxoo, Barb

I love the cocoa and coffee bar. I have a tray on which I put the Keurig, a bowl of instant mixes, coffee and cocoa K-cups, and three mugs. I’m looking around the house for a Christmas Home for the tray. I’ll use some of your ideas on my tray area, including your yard clippings ideas. Thank you for the inspiration! ?
