Like any DIY’er, I have completed a lot of
projects in my home.
And like a lot of DIY’ers, I have a lot of projects
yet to be completed.
But, that is another post. 😀
One of the projects I get asked about most is my
Like most of my projects, it has gone through a few changes from when it was first installed.
It started out as a clean and crisp white, which matched my newly painted white cabinets.
I loved the all-white look, but after a few months
(or was it a few days?) 🙂
… I decided our kitchen needed a touch of color.
The backsplash was the obvious choice.
So, it was painted Summer Cottage Blue.
Fast forward a few months later…
(Oh, ok…maybe a few days later!)
I decided the solid-painted backsplash needed
a little bit of “Farmhouse-ifying.”
I wanted a bit more of a rustic look.
I wanted a bit more of a rustic look.
So, out came the hand sander and some wax.
I am happy to say – this is how my backsplash
still looks today. 🙂

I was honored to be asked to create a

How cool is that?
These are just three of the awesome projects I

Your back splash looks really nice, and I love your countertop as well! Is the back splash indeed brick? I thinking about something similar for a wall in my bath but full size brick would not work. I’m thinking slate but that has to be sealed every so often. Any suggestions?

I want to thank you for featuring my faux brick patio that The Dedicated house featured on her Before and After Wednesday. Yes, the faux brick patio is actually mine. I would appreciate it if you could be so kind to provide a link to my post? Here it is:

I love your backsplash and always have. These other projects are great. I am using Hometalk a bit more but not a lot yet. May use it when we start to build.

I love the painted faux brick backsplash! Did you install it before or after the cabinets were installed? Where did you buy it? Is it easy to install? I need something to use as a back splash aside from just the painted wall…so any answers would be deeply appreciated! Thanks so much, Diane W
