Comment on Christmas Sweater Pillows by Betty819.
Barb,
What a cleaver idea to do and they are beautiful! How in the world did you cut the sweater into a square without all the yarn falling apart? I don’t crochet or knit and guess that is why I can’t vision doing this but I love Debbie’s square pillow too. Reminds me of a plaid sport coat that was made for me in high school. As a youngster, I also had a taffeta plaid dress like it. Thanks for reviving those memories. I never look at clothing at thrift shops because the plus sizes usually don’t have anything stylish or either they are so worn out that they should have never been acceepted by the trhift shopt in the first place. Our local hospital has a thrift shop boutique and if you wear “14 and under” there are some beautiful career suits/dresses to chose from. You look at the designer labels inside and recognize that their original price was not cheap to begin with. thanks for sharing all your ideas with us.

Pottery Barn-Inspired Bathroom Mirrors
Barb,
What brand and color of white did you use on the vanity itself? Sure came out nice. Are there any more pictures of the rest of the “Flipped house” on your website? Do you still have your real estate business?
Pottery Barn-Inspired Bathroom Mirrors
Hi Barb,
Did you replace the entire vanity or just paint it and the countertop and bowl(sink) or replace that completely? I love the look you created, looks about the size of my front bathroom. Have the original builder’s vanity in there from 1977 and I’m trying to figure out a way that I don’t have to buy a new set up altogether. I’m sure it must be some type of laminated vanity, maybe even fiberboard, but it is in good shape but looks 1977 style, if you know what I mean. Wished I could find a way to renovate it without ripping it out and going to the expense of replacing it altogether. My DH used to say my can of paint ended up costing him $500 plus before I got done, now he’d say it would cost thousands by the time you replace the floor tile, etc. Big decision; maybe that will be a 2015 project to tackle.
HOw long ago did you and Mr. start “flipping houses ?” That’s what my nephew wants to do when he retires; lives in Wilmington. He has the skills to do it but not retirement age yet; has 3 more years. We tell him to retire early before his high pressure job causes him a stroke or heart attack.
Silk Flowers That Fool the Eye
Barb, I agree there are some beautiful silk flowers out there today and don’t laugh but I have actually gone into an upscale dept store and thought the floral arrangements were real and tried to smell them before I looked around at other floral arrangements and realize they were silk. If people have creative talents like you, you can fool anybody. I wished I had your talents..you’re one amazing lady and I’ve always enjoyed all your blogs.

The Great Dollar Store Challenge
I’m still confused on the wiring..I showed my husband who has wired lamps before and he couldn’t figure out how you didn’t have to drill a hole for the wiring..Can we have a tuitorial or show us more detail if that’s not too much trouble for you?
