Happy Thursday Everyone!
I am happy to say that I am at this very moment, on my
way down I-95 South about 85 mph.
(what? I got a need for for speed)
I am heading to stay with my sweet friend
Debbie at Confessions of a Plate Addict.
Tomorrow and Saturday, we are going to the
Country Living Fair at Stone Mountain.
So, if you are also going – please look us up.
I would love to meet you!
Thanks to Leslie, The Everyday Home’s Craft
Contributor, for stepping in with her monthly craft.
Here is Leslie everyone…
Hello! It’s me again…Leslie from House on the Way,
sharing another quick and easy craft. With the holidays
approaching, I decided that it was time to start thinking
about my Thanksgiving table. I want to do something
different this year in regards to place cards. I want
something fun. That led me to some great little wooden tags
that I found at JoAnn Fabric and Crafts. I decided that they
would be great with some chalkboard paint.
The tags only required two coats of chalkboard paint and
were dry within an hour. They did need to cure for 24 hours.
Here, I’ve used the tag not only as a place card but as a
napkin ring too. I added some twine as the tie and added
the name with chalk.
I love the handmade touch to a casual place setting.
Plus, they can be used year after year and they can be
used for other purposes. They’d be great as labels for boxes
or baskets.
This craft allows you to create place cards for an entire table
in less than an hour. It’s the perfect touch to a Thanksgiving table.
Stop by House on the Way and check out my other holiday
ideas and projects.
Happy Holidays!

Saw some of these at the store recently and thought I’d use them as buffet tags at Thanksgiving. Super cute!

I have those same tags (purchased w/40% off coupon at Michael’s), and have used them for several things. I put a narrow ribbon thru them and tied them to the knobs on my Guest Bathroom drawers and same in Guest Bedroom drawers so guests know what’s inside (soap, hand towels, bath towels, etc). And I have also used them as little label tags on mason jar gifts. I gave one friend who got a new puppy a mason jar filled w/dog treats and attached one of these cute wooden tags with the doggie’s name on it, and to this day she has it on her kitchen counter & she just keeps refilling the treats. Never thought to use them as placecards, but I will now! The great thing is that they are re-usable b/c you can erase and put in a different name. Love this idea:)
