#3: Add an Inexpensive Gazebo
If you’re like me, you have an image of the perfect
back deck. Mine consists of several levels of decks
with different seating areas; a beautiful stone fireplace
in the corner; custom-built in planter boxes;
and an entire section completely closed
in with screening and a charming screened door –
with a ceiling fan and white wicker furniture with
cushy cushions and a ceiling fan.
Hey! I say if you’re gonna dream – dream BIG!
But, if that description isn’t in your budget –
I love the idea of adding an inexpensive
canvas gazebo in one corner. Many of the gazebos
available today feature netting
and drapes which totally enclose the structure.
Add some cozy, lighting for ambiance, and it’s a
nice setting on an otherwise open deck.

Well. First of all, I see you are in eastern NC. I am originally from the country, about 50 miles east of Greenville, near Washington. I am also in the process of updating my deck and having a new one built. So, we have a lot in common!

We love Washington and when we were trying to decide where to retire twelve years ago, we actually looked at one of the historical homes on the water. Our best friends live in Williamston so we travel thru there often. Small world, huh? 🙂
