If one could record me right now, it would reflect that I am in all my Glory – as the Fall Season quickly approaches.
I am indeed, at my happiest, during this time of year.
It’s also when my home comes alive. The Grits House decor reflects the colors of Fall – so needless to say it’s easy to get into the spirit and embrace this Autumnal bliss.
True to my blog’s name…I like for my decorations to reflect my Southern roots – the “Grits,” yet also reveal a touch of the unexpected…the “Glamour.”
I started with my usual box-o-florals…
Yes, it’s a lot of “stuff.” I never really know what I will need.
This is the container I used. I have a pair of these and I love them.
So majestic with the lion’s face.
I topped it with one of my large grapevine balls. These grapevine orbs have provided me with so many uses.
I added Fall colored hydrangeas to the base of the orb. I just simply tucked them right in. As easy as can be.
I used a 40% coupon to buy this bag of pumpkins. So cute. I love the touch of rustic they will provide.
Then, I tucked in mini pears, the new, mini pumpkins – and to add a little glitz…I tucked in some sprigs of beaded stems.
In about 5 minutes time, I created this very simple Fall arrangement. I set it atop a vintage french Chocolate tin.
This is one of the Belgium marble-topped cabinets in our Family Room. I call this my Gallery Wall. It features my set of painted plates featuring the Royal Kitty Family.
I love how the colors of the arrangement blend with its surroundings.
A vintage pipe sits atop a Russian Liquor Box.
Fall is almost here. The Grits House is a happy place.
I am also very excited to announce a New Blog Party. Once a month, I will host “Keep It Simple.”
I invite you to share a project, a recipe, an idea – that is super simple and easy….just like the one above.
Sometimes, I think it’s the simple things in life that make you smile the most. I look forward to hosting the first event, and seeing what wonderful projects you have to share.
Mark your calendars!!
Thursday, September 22nd.
The post will be up by 9pm on Wednesday.
I can’t wait to see all of your “Keep It Simple” Projects.

Beautiful arrangement. I had to comment on the chocolate tin beneath the florals. I have one in blue that originally held toffee and it is one of my favorite things!

Barb, Your arrangement is gor-ge-ous! Love the unexpected grapevine ball and of course the wonderful Fall colors. Looking at your gallery wall, the center picture looks like one I wish I had gotten from Bombay Company before it closed. I wish that store was still in business. Anyway, I need to tag along with you to the craft store for faux flowers. I get visual overload in the flower section and usually walk out empty handed. LOL

This arrangement is just beautiful! I think we might be “soul mates” as I have the exact same feeling about this time of year. My home is always dressed in the colors of Fall, but I just vary the shades & tones for other seasons. This time of year just makes me happy, happy, happy. I’m also a “kitty lover,” but extoll all my love and affection on just one. I’m a born & raised (to the age of 12) Southern girl, but now live in AZ with my sweet, newly retired hubby (aka: The Man) of 42 years & close to our two children and 6 grands! Life is good here and just got better after discovering your blog….lol! I’m your newest follower!

Barbie, love that beautiful Fall arrangement. Now can I give you my home address and you send it to me? LOL! Where did you find that grapevine ball? Never seen them before. Do you have some type of styrofoam or florist clay that the silk flowers are sticking inside of? Let me guess; you have an A.C. Moore or Michael’s near you? (Ref. to 40% off coupon for the net bag of pumpkins)Did you already have your container? It’s classic!
