Easy DIY Acorn Place Card Holders
Using place cards is an easy way to let guests know where you prefer them to sit during a dinner party, but they also add a personalized touch to each place setting. These easy DIY Acorn Place Card Holders can be made quickly and inexpensively.
I am nearing the end of my Fall decorating. I spent all of yesterday working on a quick tablescape in our breakfast room. I didn’t want to go all out as we use this table quite frequently, especially on weekends when the babies are staying over. But, I could not help putting out a few plates and chargers and whipping up a quick pumpkin centerpiece. I wanted some simple place cards so I went digging through my Fall box ‘o goodies to see what I had on hand. Here is what I found:
I had a bag of faux acorns from last year which I had not used. I think I got these at Hobby Lobby but you can find them almost anywhere.
I decided I wanted the actual place card to be leaf shaped. I also decided last minute to add the names pre-printed in my newest fave font called Fontbox Harleybuck. I am sharing the plain maple leaf printable with four place cards for you to use.

I used cuticle scissors to cut mine out. It helped get around all the little parts. Then, I used a copper paint pen to add some color and help cover up any raw edges.
The acorn holders could not have been easier. I took two of the acorns and glued them together, then added one more in the back. Make sure you glue the acorns so they are slightly upright. A hot glue gun made fast work of the process and I quickly put together four place card holders. Make sure the glue dots are added lower down on the acorns so the leaf place cards will easily slip between. Here is the finished product:
I was tickled pink with how they turned out and it was the perfect touch to my Breakfast Room Fall Tablescape which I will share with you soon.
So that’s all there is to it. I think it’s the smaller touches such as these Acorn Place Card Holders that make a tablescape special, don’t you?
I hope you enjoyed this quick ‘n easy Fall Craft project. xxoo, barb
