It’s been an extremely busy time…
In fact, I have been so busy being busy –
I am just now getting around to posting the full
Christmas Home Tour for The Everyday Home.
So without further ado, I am sharing our home
dressed in its Christmas finery and faire…
The Everyday Home 2015 Christmas Home Tour
I so admire all of the bloggers who completed their
home’s Christmas decorating and featured a full tour on their
blog weeks ago.
It just didn’t happen for me this year.
In fact – I have only in the past few days really added the final
touches and been able to sit back and enjoy our home.
So that is why I joined up with a group of other bloggers for
the “Busy Girls” Christmas Home Tours.
Please make sure you follow until the end so you
can enjoy all the other fabulous ladies joining in.
There are also two fabulous giveaways you can enter to win.
I have already shared several rooms in our home,
so I will highlight the ones I have already shared and give
you a link back in case you haven’t seen these rooms, but I will
also take you on a tour of the spaces I have not shared.
Let’s start on the Front Porch…
Our red front door is perfect for Christmas.
Every time I think I am going to repaint it, I remember
about how pretty it is when Christmas comes around.
White rockers with a cozy throw and pillows,
and red poinsettia greet you at the steps.
It’s been so warm and pretty here in NC that I could
still use some of the green plants in the white boxes, and
just add some poinsettia.
One of the things I love this year about our Front Porch
is the Wood sign I had custom-made by a friend.
It’s from one of my favorite Christmas songs. I added the
sign over my vintage Tobacco Basket.
A wood box I made last year is filled with
a variety of greenery…
White lights are nestled into the greenery and at night
this box just glows.
I used the same wreath I have for the past few
years, I just added a larger plaid bow and
reworked some of the greenery.
Next to the door…
I added a vintage sled and skates, plus a plaid bow
topped black lantern.
Now let’s go inside…
Last week, I shared our newly decorated Living Room.
We are on the process of turning this area into a
Library, and we ordered new navy chairs and had
the room repainted to prepare.
I can’t wait to get started on this project next year.
I also shared our formal Dining Room and
Tartan Plaid and Houndstooth Mantel…
The tartan plaid and houndstooth ribbons carried the theme
this year. I think the combination is one of my faves ever.
Without a doubt, they made a statement on our mantel.
I especially love the glow of this room at night…
Let’s head into the Kitchen and Breakfast Room…
One side of the breakfast area featured Cleetus the Pig
dressed in a mighty fine NOEL wreath…
I shared how to create this Easy DIY Lighted Pinecone Candle Tray.
On the other side of the Breakfast area, I carried the same
“sweater” design in this
Colorful and Whimsical Santa Vignette
This sweater garland you see below on the tree set the theme
for this area of our home…
I created a Centerpiece for our Breakfast Room table that I adore…
I call it the “Little Country Church in the Woods” because I
have a love affair with little, country churches covered in snow.
On each side I used these fabulous Deer Silhouette Mason
Jar Candles I found from Lowes.
Now let’s head over to the Kitchen…
(my apologies – it’s picture heavy 🙂 )
Our Kitchen is a cross between American Farmhouse and
English Farmhouse. It has decor personality disorder. 🙂
I made these Faux Mini Boxwood Wreaths for the
fronts of the cabinets…
I couldn’t resist clipping this little guy to one of them.
They hang from sweater ribbon which ties into the
sweater design from the Breakfast Area.
Here’s another corner of that same counter.
The little sheep was brought back from England when we
visited there this past September.
The white ironstone bowl holds ornaments, and two are
extremely special to me.
The two middle vintage ornaments are all that are left
of about 40 ornaments, given to me by my Mama.
She bought these almost 65 years ago for their first Christmas.
They sadly got smashed one day in an accident.
I have to share these cute, little paintings sitting on the ledge…
My three grandbabies painted them this year, and I will treasure
them and display them forever.
Over by the farmhouse sink, a wire basket that usually holds
some of my cutting boards now holds Christmas cookbooks.
The island decor is simply because this is a working kitchen.
A rosemary topiary – which also comes in handy for my
holiday recipes, in a vintage ironstone bowl surrounded
by mini balls, bells and snow.
I also have my Chocolate Covered Peppermint Oreos
in a small cookie jar.
My original plan was to also add Mini Faux Boxwood Wreaths
to these cabinet doors, but I loved how the
Cotton and Boxwood Wreath around the light looked on its own.
I filled my Galvanized Wall Bucket with greenery and berries.
And don’t you love the $1 Red Deer ornament perched on the ledge?
A mini Gingerbread House (Dollar Tree) sits atop a
vintage, black scale.
Finally, let’s go take a look at our Christmas Tree…
I know I keep saying I have a lot of faves, but
our tree this year truly is one of my fave Christmas trees.
I used glitter-roof mini houses found at
Dollar General as “ornaments.”
We don’t have a flocked tree, but a $1 can of
spray snow sorta did the trick.
Glitter pine cones, green and cream plaid ribbon and mounds
of “snow” tucked within the branches make it look like a
mini snow village.
This room is our most traditional in style, decorated with
collected English artwork and decor.
But a more rustic wood box my son made for me acts
as the tree stand.
There have been years I have decorated more,
and years I have decorated less.
But this year, I think I decorated just right!
That is the end of the tour.
Besides, Teddy is tired and needs a nap.
And so do I.
🙂
Thank you for coming into my home. From all of my
