I know, I know.
I disappeared. Boom! Gone!
I truly did not mean to just leave like I did.
My intentions were to come on here and tell you I was overwhelmed with life
and babies and the upcoming house flip…and well, just blogging in general.
Then…we got started on the flip house, and one day turned into another…
… and another –
… and then a week had rolled by –
..and soon I was looking at well over a month had passed and I still had a
Spring/Easter header on the blog.
(and I still do. aaagh)
:-/
So – my apologies to everyone who has been so faithful to me
and may have wondered where I was.
All three of you. 😀
I am going to give you a little sneak peak at the completed flip house.
(YES! We finished. My goal was one month and we finished one day early!)
This is the Before…
The outside did not change that much really.
We added a fresh coat of paint and some new landscaping.
But I am SO proud of the inside
(…and can I say how proud I am of my son, too!)
It was mostly cosmetic changes.
Unlike some of the HGTV shows where they go in and start
ripping out cabinets and tearing down walls and knocking down fireplaces…
we simply made what was there…
… Better!
Here are three sneak peaks….
I promise to share the rest later.
(yes, I will be back)
🙂
KITCHEN BEFORE…
KITCHEN AFTER…
BEFORE BATHROOM:
I promise to show lots more pictures and share some of the
projects we did. Like the Pottery Barn-Inspired Bathroom Mirror above.
But…I need to say.
Blogging will be on my own terms.
No sponsored ads for now.
No time schedules.
Just me and the blog and blogging when the mood strikes.
It has to be that way.
I feel in many ways the blog had taken over my life and was defining me.
And = I have faaaaaar too many valuables in my life to let a computer define me and take
up too much of my time. I am pretty darn sure all of you understand that.
So…. I will leave you with one more #fliphouse sneak….
(One of my fave areas of the house)

Great job from what I can see. It does take a lot of work to blog and when it ceases to be fun …or becomes a time stealer…it is time to put it on hold. We have rehabbed a lot of houses and used what was there, too. I am looking at a little house close to us and thinking about taking it on, too. xo Diana

Looks good! As a former house flipper, I am really looking forward to seeing the “rest of the story”! I truly loved house flipping even though sometimes it was backbreaking work! (We only did one that we didn’t have to completely gut the kitchen but most foreclosures we found were in pretty horrible condition.) I know how rewarding it is when you look at the original condition and the final result!

I’m doing the same thing, Barb! I think women “of a certain age” understand that life has a higher priority than anything else. The house looks awesome, and I can’t wait to see the tour!

Good for you!!! I’m right there with you! Blogging has a was of taking over one’s life… It’s good to step away when you feel that happening. Family and friends are everything in the end. Not sure if I will ever be inspired enough to return.
The flip house is awesome! You made such a beautiful difference! Glad to know that all is well in your world. Cheers to a quick sale for you too!

I know how difficult it can be to balance the offline and online worlds. Looks like you’re doing alright.

I can say I have missed reading all your blogs. Glad you are back.

I like your blog and I really admire that you are one of the few bloggers that doesn’t do the whole ads/ income thing. I once loved some blogs that have become bogged down and severely stifled with all of the self promoting blah blah. So kudos and thanks for keeping it real! I’ll be back and I’m glad you will too!
